The pancakes taste bad, the food is good otherwise. The bao buns are really good.
Never felt to review a restaurant but it was that bad I had too! Chicken chow main: dry and noodles were all Completely cut up not long noodles but before opening tub I thought they’d given me a rice it was that cut up. Chicken cashew in yellow bean sauce: 80% of my tub was practically raw onions might as well have brushed a brown sauce that was more bbq flavoured than anythING else all over but there was no sauce. Chicken Sweet and sour sauce: wow sauce was all Wrong tasted nothing at all like sweet n sour sauce didn’t even look like it at all, again hardly any sauce anyway it was more water from steam or I don’t know but definitely not sweet and sour sauce and what on earth is up with all The raw onions?! Honestly, the worst I’ve ever had.
The Seafood rice was horrible. It was a weird brown colour, dry and there was such a tiny, tiny amount of seafood in it, what a joke. The squid was 95 per cent batter and 5 percent of squid, which was tough as old boots. One of the worst Chinese restaurants around
I have been waiting over an hour for my food ordered through uber eats. Told to call the restaurant as they have their own drivers, the phone line does not work and the call does not go through. This is frankly appalling service and no one should ever order from here ever. update: i have received my order, so stars went up. this restaurant needs to make sure customers are able to contact them to avoid this happening.
Terrible experience ever! What a total waste of money? We ordered worth £30 of food but they all tasted so stale. I had never complained about food in my whole life and I so much hate chucking food away but this one had to go straight into the bin right after we tried a spoon each. It was that bad! I called them to ask why the food was so bad? The lady on the phone totally denied and did not even try to make any effort to make our experience better. Our evening dinner was totally ruined Please avoid if you can.
That was the worst ribs we have ever ate.I usually don’t write reviews but here I couldn’t not to. I have ordered 2x salt and spicy ribs as we use to order it from the other restaurant, which is unfortunately closed on Tuesdays and this one here was like half less then the other one and the price so expensive plus not much meat, most bones ;/ will never order it from here again. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
Delicious food I have been to Golden Empire a few times with my family. We are always impressed by the lovely food & friendly efficient staff. Lily she is outstanding her customers service skills, menu recommendations her friendly persona is so warming. Their menu has a great choice of tasty dishes which we never tire of trying as they are always delicious & served promptly. Thank you Lily for allowing us to celebrate my mums 88 Birthday today. Reg
Went here with a friend the other week and one of the waitresses helped us out a lot when it came to some gluten intolerances and such, as well as having a nice conversation. The food was really nice and tasty too! Would definitely come back. Surprised by the overall low review of the place.
Ordered 5 dishes for delivery, 3 of them were OK but nothing special but the two salt and pepper squids were probably the worst that I have gotten the last 15 years from any Chinese restaurant. Very dry and hard. My 9 and 7 year old children could not even eat them as they were soooo hard. If you order anything from there that is a dish that should definitely be avoided.
The place was cold,needed to keep the jackets on to stay warm. The food portion was quite big and the taste average just because i haven't ate all day.The way they served the food was like you serve the dog - just chuck everything on the plate without any care. Customer service wasn't the best as well. The only thing I liked that it was quite.In summary,I wouldn't recommend it unless it is the only place that serves food in that street.
