Lovely restaurant. Food was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were all very friendly. The place had a good atmosphere and was very nicely decorated. Must say the highlight of eating here wasn’t just the great food but also how pleasant the staff were!Recommended dishesCrispy Shredded Beef
I heard good things about this Chinese, the staff were nice and you get a lot of food… but that’s what it looks like, the chicken balls were just like Southend seafront donuts, plenty of dough and chicken in the middle! I mean I went to the seafront for Chinese not donuts!! The crispy beef, was just crispy… no beef in it at all and I was thinking that to myself and others had commented saying does this actually have beef in it? The rice was dry and tasteless… so don’t be fooled by the big portions coz it’s mainly just flour based. Maybe you have to eat in this restaurant to have the real food experience, because like I said I have heard very good things about this restaurant.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Food is so delicious, great service with very friendly staff. Sorry I have no photos to show anyone as I was with my family and we were more interested in eating the well presented dishes and enjoying quality time without a mobile phone on the table! Definitely give this restaurant a try, you certainly wont be disappointed!
We were fortunate to get a table for our group of 8 at such short notice. We really enjoyed our dinner and the food was delicious and excellently prepared. I would definitely recommend dining here if looking for a restaurant in Southend.Food: 5/5
Nice family run restaurant for many years. We dined on Chinese New Year's Eve and it was busy but not chaotic. We pre-ordered items that are not on the menu such as crab and Chinese roast pork which were very good. Josie is a friendly and chatty host; she even offered a huge fresh fish but we ordered too much! I am glad that Southend still has a couple of places that serve authentic cantonese cuisine and The Gold Coast is one of them.
We placed our delivery Saturday 22nd at 5.50pm and it actually arrived at 8pm took over 2 hours to arrive. We lived 9 minutes drive away from the restaurant. You could not even get to talk to anyone asking where the delivery was or how much longer is it going to be it totally ruined our evening and family members decided to go home. Very very poor service a disgrace. Supposed to be delivered within the hour.
Came in for dinner last week and we absolutely loved it here, the staff were really kind and chatty and explain everything with the menus, it was a lovely environment to be in lovely and relaxed will becoming back again. Food was lovely tooFood: 5/5
Our family love this place. I have coeliac and feel so trusting talking to the owners and eating their delicious food. I've never had a problem. They are helpful and polite and considerate. Thnaks guys.
Great food with authenticity. Food can be pre ordered for meals with Kareoke or you can just have your everyday chicken chowmein, special fried rice, KungPow Chicken, to the extravagant lobster, Chinese Hot Pot, meal at a price point that suites your budget. From basic to the top end as long as you tell them what you want. The local chinese also come here alot which says it all. Thank you to Ramond, Josie, Mike abd the team for a great night. We have now been back 3 times in two weeks Vegetarian options: Available on request nice selection Kid-friendliness: Good with children plus high chairs available Parking: Street parking
Very nice chinese affair extremely reasonable set menu value. Food was very nice and loads of it.
