I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a boat trip with my husband and kids on a Sunday evening, and it was truly a delightful experience. The weather was perfect, setting the stage for a relaxing family outing. The staff were exceptionally friendly, taking the time to explain everything we needed to know before we set off, which made us feel comfortable and well-prepared. The boat itself was very spacious, with a convenient table in the middle where we could place our snacks and drinks. It was a perfect setting for a casual family evening, allowing us to chat, enjoy the views, and create some wonderful memories together. If you're new to driving a boat, like we were, it might take a little while to get the hang of it, but it’s all part of the fun. Once we got used to it, we found the experience quite enjoyable. The views from the water were absolutely fantastic, offering a unique perspective of the city that we don’t often get to see. Overall, it was a great experience that we’d definitely recommend to other families looking for a peaceful and enjoyable evening together.
We were blessed with good weather and had a fantastic experience! We selected the 2 hour sail which was the perfect amount of time with my 8 and 13 year old. A unique experience on the canals of little Venice, passing London zoo along the way. You can bring food on board and the boats are super easy to navigate. Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
Easy to find, great guidance from the team and a wonderful canal route. 2 hours is a must and confident with manoeuvring is key. Make sure to bring or buy M&S and coffee shops close by food, drink and fully charged phone for all the photos you'll take.
GoBoat Paddington offers an exceptional self-drive boating experience that lets you explore some of London's most picturesque waterways. Starting from Paddington, our route took us through the scenic London Zoo, along the tranquil Regent's Park Canal, and into the vibrant area of Little Camden. The journey was absolutely beautiful, providing a unique perspective of these iconic spots. The boats are designed to be very user-friendly, making them easy to drive even for beginners. Each boat can accommodate six to eight people, making it a great activity for groups of friends or family outings. You have the option to bring your own snacks or purchase some on-site, adding to the convenience and enjoyment of the trip. Pre-booking is highly recommended to secure your spot, as this popular attraction tends to fill up quickly. Overall, GoBoat Paddington is a fantastic way to spend a leisurely day on the water, offering a memorable and delightful experience for all ages.
Booked in advance for Father’s Day. What a fabulous, relaxing time! Instruction and staff all great, easy to manoeuvre and such a lovely way to see a different perspective of London with a picnic. The weather was kind too which helped. A wonderful experience for the adults, children and dog!
Great fun on the canal boat trip. Very pretty around Maida Vale with the canal boats and tunnels. We were lucky it did not rain and not many other boats on the canal. Watch out: Was quite narrow in parts and the big boats suddenly stop so you have to be careful as the boat is not as responsive. Could do with the instructions on the back of the route card as a reminder. Would do again for longer and a nice sunny day. Nice experience with a group of friends!
Booked 2 boats for our friend's surprise hen-do party and had an absolute blast despite them having a non-alcohol policy. The 2hour rental was enough to see lots of wonderful spots and the canal was mostly wide enough for it not to be intimidating when being first time drivers. The staff were very accommodating and understanding. I would definitely recommend this activity and would do it again.
That was really fun. We had lovely weather which made our trip up the Regents canal all the more enjoyable. The gentle pace of the boats suits the environment and feels relaxing. the Lemurs in the old Apiary at London Zoo are a cherry on an otherwise generously iced cake. Our dog safely cocooned in his life jacket loved the trip although looked seconds away from throwing himself in the water at all times. One thing - do listen carefully to the instructions when they on-board you. You will get something around the prop easily sorted and the Maida Vale Tunnel is fine but looks a bit daunting.
Interesting that you ask for our feedback because until realising the journey to the end, Camden Lock, only took an hour of our three hour booking, we were enjoying it. The expectation is that you need the full time to complete the route so we are disappointed. What on earth could we do with the spare hour? The canal was busy with other Goboat users plus river barge cruises and private barges making it difficult to just let the boat drift if we wanted to relax and you aren’t allowed to moor so we chose to return an hour early and the response to our dilemma, by the manager, wasn’t sympathetic.
Fab couple of hours on the Regent’s Canal. GoBoat were really accommodating, letting us wait for friends whose train had been delayed. Despite the weather, we had such a fun time seeing this part of London which was new to a lot of us.
