Nice place, steeped in history. If you can see passed the fact it backs on to a graveyard and is in the top 5 most haunted hotels in Wales, you will sleep well Food is really good from a classic pub grub menu, all home cooked to order.
We were looking for a pub or a place to drink and this was one of the places Google suggested that was actually open. Prices weren't bad and service was quick but possibly just because it wasn't busy. No real atmosphere due to there only being one other table in the place no idea if they had guests but it was 5pm so might liven up at night. A historic building so worth going in just to say you've had a drink in there
You describe this hotel as with simple bedrooms?? The bedrooms are not as simple as some of the ones that I have used in my business travels in the past! I would like to say that the bedrooms are comfy, with a very comfortable bed double, chest of drawers, double wardrobe, en-suite bathroom, bedside tables & a desk that I can fit my 16" laptop on and use it whilst others can walk behind me whilst I am using it, TV with DVD player. There is free WIFI throughout the hotel. Bar prices are good. The staff are friendly, helpful, considerate and attentive to your needs. The local regulars are friendly and will communicative. Food is excellent for price and you will need to be hungry to eat a three course. I am a regular visitor to Corwen.I live in Plymouth. Our company has supplied a local to Corwen company, with four Automation systems. We regularly visit the local business, to service their systems and assist them when they need assistance. I have used the Owain Glyndwr hotel every time that I have visited our customer over the last five + years. But most of all, the price of the rooms are probably best value for money in the area! I would sooner use the Owain Glyndar than any Premier inn that I have used in my travels!
Very quaint pub, very old fashioned local, and run by a really charming landlord : I think it was Phil? Good selection of beers and decent pub grub. Cheap and cheerful :
Atmospheric and well appointed rooms in an historic coaching inn. The prices were very reasonable, the staff friendly, and the food of great quality and quantity.
Still not dog-friendly
Been in this gaff on a thursday night, the bar was empty, and it seemed like all the rooms were as welll. Served by the owner who looked like he has had enough of life. Don't know, might be different in the summer.
I actually went to the kebab house but Google thinks I went here instead. I've been in here. It's OK. It's a hotel in Corwen. That's about it. Why you'd want to stay in Corwen I'd never know. The hotel has rooms and a bar. It's a building. It's in the A5. The rooms have beds.
Did not like the overpowering smell of rot. Paper peeling of room walls. Mould in shower & it's leaked! Views were nice.
I had broccoli pasta bake and my friend had the ham and eggs. Well presented really tasty would highly recommend it.
