Couldn’t ask for a better place to look after our nervous German shepherd. Carl, Jack, Rob, Millie and the whole team have worked so hard with Bella who has come back after eight nights so happy, calm and cared for. Highly recommended place for dog care.
My review is based on the two occasions our dog has stayed here, so I'm trying to be fair. Our dog stayed here for a few nights earlier this year and there were no issues. He came home happy, clean and healthy. He's also been in for daycare a few times and comes home absolutely shattered so we know he's had a good time and a good workout. My one criticism was that the handle on his long lead was scuffed and scratched so he'd clearly been running around with it dragging behind him. We just stopped sending him with that lead to prevent that issue. We picked him up today and we had to take him straight to a self serve dog wash as he absolutely stunk of urine. It was overwhelming and to top it off they'd sprayed him with perfume before bringing him out to try and mask it. Whilst washing him we noticed that his bottom and privates were seemingly inflamed like he'd been resting in urine and hadn't been in a clean environment. It can't be a coincidence that someone else has posted a similar review within the last 24 hours, the apparent drop in recent standards is cause for concern. Unfortunately, a business is only as good as its recent performance and if I was reviewing based on this one visit, it would be 1 star. As such, I don't think we'll be using them again, which is a shame because they've been excellent in the past and are clearly popular with other reviewers.
We have used these kennels for many years. Our dog spent the last days of her life here and the care she received was absolutely amazing. The staff go well above what is expected and we can't thank them enough. If you want to know you are leaving your pet with carers who love them as much as you do, look no further than Glenbrittle.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! BEST PLACE TO GO We have used this kennels a number of times and every time it has delivered amazing service. When we drop off our boy is always eager to get in and down to the kennels, which I love to see as you can tell our boy loves it there. Throughout the stay the team sent us loads of photos and updates on his stay and how he was getting on. I was impressed how quick they responded to me and let me know how my boy was doing. When we picked him up he looked so happy and smelt amazing. He loves rolling in mud but came out looking so fresh and clean. Thank you for tiring him out and giving him a great holiday, he’s slept all day giving me some time to get some jobs done! THANK YOU FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF OUR BOY! We definitely recommend this kennels to everyone and we will be letting our friends know to use you! Keep up the amazing work!!X
My dogs seem to really love it there and took them at short notice . Stayed a 2nd time dogs came back happy. Booked in foe a further 3 stays this year. Thanks guys x
Took my chihuahua and Pekinese here as I was going on holiday for a week, I was told they were as good as gold and the pictures I received they looked so happy as always , the best kennel on the Wirral and highly recommended
First and last time we use them. Just picked our dog up and the smell of urine in the car was horrendous. Got home and our dog was wet underneath and stinking of wee. We've just showered him with a huge amount of shampoo and still underneath the smell is strong. Clearly been left to walk and lay down in his own urine which is frankly disgusting. Never had this issue from any other Wirral kennels. They forgot to bring through our bag of toys too which we thought they'd put in another bag although actually quite glad as dread to imagine what state they are in. Just to add, we're now on shower number 5 and the smell is still pungent especially around his face where I suspect he's been cleaning himself and the smell has rubbed off. Absolutely no way this was a one off issue. It's stale wee that is deeply embedded in his fur.
We are very happy with Glenbrittle and our dog Max came home excited to see us and his usual bouncy self. Lovely shop area so you can buy treats when dropping off/collecting - very good selection on items. We even grabbed a new dog bed at a good price. All the staff were friendly and professional and Max had had been well looked after. We’ve kept both our cat and dog here and will continue to do so in future. Max came home smelling cleaner than he had for ages after a lovely dog groom - highly recommend paying for this service as the cost is good and you can tell it’s been done Max gets smelly easily from the beach. No harsh chemicals or heavy scent, just usual bathed and clean dog smell. We have booked in again for both pets. No problem with online booking, and the manager/owner is professional and approachable and we were lucky enough to get a last minute placement for our cat which was organised quickly. If you want to look around you can, we were offered this at point of booking. Management and owners are transparent with this and clearly have nothing to hide. Thanks Glenbrittle. Happy customers and happy pets. We know that we can relax when away knowing our pets are well cared for.
Recently took my labrador to this kennel, the staff were very friendly and took amazing care of him. Will definitely be coming back
Just picked my dog Peter up from his 2 weeks stay at the Kennels. He came out excited to see us but looked like he wanted to stay longer, they even bathed him before we picked him up which was amazing. Highly recommend this kennels and the staff are very kind and seem like they really care about the dogs. It's great to know my boy is safe and well looked after x
