I've stayed here alone for a week last Sept 2021 while waiting for my student accommodation contract to start. I felt perfectly safe, the room was comfortable, and the full English breakfast was lovely! The location is near a tram stop as well and there were a lot of convenient places around the neighbourhood, but quiet and peaceful at night which was great. The road where the house is was quite steeper than expected so if you have heavy bags, take a car. I highly recommend this place!

Fantastic BnB, a real hidden gem that's like a home away from home. Rooms are clean and spacious, beds are comfy, the showers are hot, and you also get a bit of a view from some rooms! My family and I have stayed here multiple times before, and I never choose anywhere else when visiting Hillsborough. Deborah is a brilliant host, nothing is ever too much trouble - she is super flexible, personable, and accommodating. There's tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, as well as some bathroom products, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, a table and chairs, TV, even a little heater! Guests have access to the living/dining room where you can eat take aways, work, watch TV on the comfy sofas etc, and there's free WiFi and on street parking. The breakfasts are lovely, all freshly cooked and really tasty, continental options too, and even better it's included in the more than reasonable room rate. I can't praise Conniston Guest House enough, every stay is just as enjoyable as the last and you always get a peaceful nights sleep. No fancy thrills, just perfect home comforts, in a super relaxed atmosphere, with accommodating hosts.
