Gailes Links is very much worth a visit - I talked to Nick in the clubhouse to book and he told us "When we're here, you're not a visitor you're a member" and it was absolutely how we felt. It's got a beautiful clubhouse full of history and memorabilia and an excellent post-round meal and the course was really well maintained. Will definitely be making another trip.
Loved it, course and especially the greens in great condition considering we played in the hottest conditions, but was very punishing when tee shot off line, hard to find the ball heather and when you do find it you wish you hadn't, well recommend.
I was made to feel very welcome at the clubhouse by the professional. He told me that I wasn't a visitor I was a member for the day and took the time to tell me about the club and show me round the clubhouse. I've played a lot of golf courses and this is one of the warmest welcomes I've received. The course was challenging and was in great condition considering the recent weather. I'd advise anyone who is considering playing gailes links to go for it, you won't be disappointed.
Playing November 2020 and great condition for time of year, great fair test of golf with some wicked sloping greens and some wee hidden bunkers. Absolutely loved the course and will definitely play again, great price at £55 a person
Booked online as a visitor , course was in great condition, great layout and deep bunkers , greens were superb had a great day. Dissapointed the pro shop was shut though and lucky to get a scorecard from the bar area, could leave a few out for visitors .
Another Scottish gem. Played the last 6 in the rain and made it even more enjoyable. A lot of enjoyable and testing holes. Can't wait to come back and play it again.
Great service, from the welcoming to the drinks after the round. It's also a beautiful course. Would highly recommend.
Wow What a golf course Played today in strong wind and rain but loved it. Well worth a visit
A very warm welcome with very friendly staff from head Pro to greenkeepers to bar staff. Course was immaculate and the only gripe was the pace of play..two four balls in front of two us and never played through despite several opportunities and we were clearly better golfers. A marshall could've been helpful.
Superb golf course, fantastic layout, evey hole a joy to play
