Haven't not been here for about 10yrs. I have to say it's not changed much. The food is still just as good, and value for money. Fresh seafood and friendly staff. One of the original Italian restaurants still trading. Easy to book a table able a few nights a head using their website.
This is an excellent Italian restaurant with a traditional Scottish feel. It is excellent! The food is excellent, tasty, and there is plenty of it. The steak is super. The fish is great, the drinks are fine. The service is attentive, and plates are cleared quickly. The staff/waiters leave you alone and appear when you need them. That's so good and professional. On the way out I see the staff eating their dinnwr which is the same food that you are eating, that shows how good tasty and trustworthy the kitchen is. It is very easy to find as it is well located. I enjoyed this restaurant and would say it is one of the very best aitalian restaurants in Edinburgh that i have used. I highly recommend it. The owner is intimately involved in the restaurant, the dishes the service woth the customers. I was fortunate to meet the owner and have attached a photo. These guys are brilliant i 100% recommend them and would eat here again, and again. I recommend this restaurant Vegetarian options: Lots of good pasta dishes with vegetarian cooking at it's core.
After booking reservations on Open Table, we were pleasantly surprised during this experience. The service was exemplary and the food was amazing! Perfect meal after a long day of traveling. The atmosphere was warm and the fresh pasta was a little taste of Italy!
Visited 2 weeks ago. The food was nice with an extensive menu. Starters were very Nice. Mains of Sirloin Steak & Seasonal Veg & Roast Potatoes. Steak was very nice, not keen on Veg as over cooked, but Roasty Potatoes were good. The Seefood Spaghetti was enjoyed and was A selection of mixed shellfish & seafood, with a fresh tomato sauce. The deserts of Profiteroles & Apple Pie & Ice Cream were also nice. We found the service a little slow and found on our visit staff were not very engaging and as friendly as others had mentioned, but it may have been a busy daybefore we arrived. We will be going back in a couple of months and will go back to Giuliano's & will update the review if it merits it.
Was recommended to eat here by a local, it didn't disappoint. This is a traditional Italian, you can tell it's the kind of place that has been in the family for years, long standing chefs and very welcoming staff. The restaurant is spacious, plenty of space around tables. The menu is classic, i opted for spaghetti meatballs, all homemade, it was delicious. Washed down with a nice glass of chianti. I noticed gluten free options were available if needed. Located opposite the Playhouse and just behind the new St James Quarter shopping centre.
Tried the fish and chips, fried hamburger and fried sausage. Unfortunately it was all so greasy it was really not edible. We have since heard from locals you should never go to a “chippy” before 4pm in order to make sure the oil is fresh snd hot. Lesson learned. Visited on a Friday afternoon.
Great restaurant, lovely food and good service
Ordered for delivery today - lasagne cold, lacked meat and mostly sauce. Garlic bread was floppy and fries looked like they had been cooked with a hair dryer, cold and crunchy from being raw.
The food is tasty and decently priced. Staff were quick and efficient seating us, taking our order, and delivering our meals. Possibly due to bad timing with most other customers leaving for a show, we had to wait quite a long time to pay- and had to speak to three different servers before someone actually came to process our payment.
Love eating here. Friendly and great food, always consistent. Look forward to next time. Recommended to everyone. I have been eating here for about 30 years
