Worked Xmas temp here got promised this bonus that bonus got forced to stay back every day we were already working 7 days on trot for Xmas by time last day came 23rd told I was staying over again kids left on own again all week went home on last day early after a disagreement with one of the nazis marching round telling people who was staying over & have now lost any bonuses any higher hourly rate we were supposed to be getting but as I heard a fella say they will take money off you for nothing if they can. To cut a long story short rubbish place got a better job now proper start & finish times happy days if you have kids or commitment’s these don’t wanna hear about it. Also just received last wage got promised hourly rate would be more than 10.44 it wasn’t lost all bonuses xtra pay etc got proper done massive company millions of pounds but penny pinch ur money because I couldn’t stay bk one day just goes to show what the companies like lots of reviews about them being bad company to work for take the advice it is.
Used to be a good place to work . Not now , wouldn't recommend working there. Good set of lads. However it can't be said for all. 11 years service I did. Went in to say bye to the lads. Had a manager shouting telling me I've got 2 mins then I've gotta get out. Very disappointed really after 11 years. Can't even say a proper goodbye without being bellowed at across the warehouse. Sums the place up really don't seem to care about the staff, just as long as the job is done. You're just a number not a person there.
An employee by the name of Gary Montgomery harassed me and deliberately swerved towards me while operating a PPT while I was employed by pertemps until they fired me for having to go to hospital.
No more allowed sit in the cab . Spose to wait in canteen. On gates been told there coffee snacks both wending mashines empty. Inside canteen temperature was at freezing point . The most funny part is when I back to my vehicle, Gist driver was sleeping in his warm, cosy bed. Looks like rules not same for everyone
I shall give Pertemps Agency 5 golden stars,, but as for Gist itself minus stars,, the agency staff do most of the laborious toil and are not treated with respect for the amount of work they do,, nor treated equally despite the job being the same for Agency and Gist staff. There are better warehouses with better career prospects than here,, work for pertemps for sure but think long and hard before committing.

Great company to work for,can’t speak for everyone at every other depot but working at Barnsley is where I will probably be for rest of my career,can’t fault it tbh lots of banter and a pleasurable working day,every day,I hope it stays like this now M&S have taken the reins and don’t try fix something that definitely is NOT broken

One star is more than enough, should be minus. Their lorries have no respect for the roads, their HGVs drive down my road, which has a 4.5 tonne weight limit & is a residential road. Phone up to complain & they aren't interested. Don't even know where the road is which they should be using despite depot being only 2 miles away.
