Visited for dinner during our visit to London. When we arrived, we were promptly seated, service for the rest of the meal was good. The place itself was underground and the decor was outdated. For food, we got the prawn cocktail, spaghetti vongole, and the parpadelle with ragu sauce. The prawn cocktail was actually nothing like what I expected. The ones I've had in the past came with giant prawns with cocktail sauce for dipping. The one I got here is more like tiny shrimps mixed in salad sauce. Perhaps it was just a mismatched of expectation, but it tasted mediocre and unrefined. Spahgetti vongole was acceptable, the taste was there, but relatively bland, it was lacking that strong clam taste with white wine. Noodle was al dente, a bit undercooked if any. The parpadelle had a good texture, taste was good, probably one of the better dishes we ordered. Overall, we expected better given the high ratings of this place, but was left a bit underwhelmed and disappointed.
Tucked away Italian spot with traditional dishes and an old-school feel. Everything was delicious and the staff was kind and attentive. Recommended!
I went to the restaurant with my work colleagues for lunch. Although the food was average, I have no idea why the waiting staff were so aggressive. It seemed they are used to being very bossy with their clients when taking the orders or seating them on the table. Frankly I'm not a fan of this type of behaviour, it's an expensive restaurant so I expect very courteous and polite service which we did not receive. Will not be returning again.
We turned up late for dinner a scant hour before the restaurant closed. After they confirmed we knew the close time and would have a little rush they could not have been more accommodating! Everything was handled very quickly and the team were super friendly. Next time I am in the area I will definitely go back but will surely be earlier so I can fit in that extra bottle of wine and limoncello
Over priced, poor service. Walked in to the restaurant with the stench of rotten fish only to realise later that it was coming from the waiter. The service was dreadful with us having to go up the bar every time we wanted to order. The calamari was over cooked and tasted as if it was a week old. I can’t say I would come back. There are nicer Italian restaurants to go to
Extensive selection of traditional Italian dishes and very welcoming waiting staff; its greeting style and interiors reminded me of the 80’s, when restaurants really knew how to treat their customers. A bit too expensive though.
Visited place over lunch and it was packed with people and great food. I actually went twice just because the rolled chicken in mozzarella was amazing. Prices are a bit on the higher side but it's worth going and trying something different. 2nd time, lamb was ordered and it was just as amazing
Very good Italian food, classy service - highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Favorite place in the square Mile. Great service and food is lovely. No tiny portions here!
Great italian food, great italian wines, very welcoming staff
