Really nice food and, after sending pics of the menu to my very italy-savvy partner, very authentic too! Actual garlic bread rather than a baguette with garlic butter on it, etc. Would definitely recommend.
Went over for lunch and the staff was courteous to accommodate a chicken based menu. The chicken was prepared fresh and nice. Enjoyed a hot bowl of lentil soup, a nice hot meal and would recommend the place for anyone visiting Dunnotar castle. The parking is around the roadside for a stipulated 45minutes. Washroom was clean and alright. The dishes - chicken cooked in tomato sauce and chicken +mushroom white sauce.
Very cozy Italian restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Tagliatelle al salmone was delicious.
We came at 7:30 pm and asked kindly for a table, there have been 3 free tables. He told us to come back at 8:15 pm, not very kindly and in a hurry. We came back in time, the same tables were free but the waitress told us that they don’t take anyone for today anymore. She has been kind but he didn’t wanted to explain. We felt not welcome and we had to leave and get somewhere else. Difficult at the late hour.
One of the worse restaurant. We ordered two pizzas. They gave us supermarketbfrozen pizza baked in hurry, both were partially frozen. Restaurant owner knew the that we were not there for such bad food. I left pizza without eating. He was only interest was money.
Gino's has become a bit of a tradition in my family: most weekends I will meet my parents here for lunch. The menu is straightforward: either simple lunchtime staples such as baguettes and baked potatoes, or classic Italian dishes. There is plenty of choice on the normal menu and usually a couple of specials as well, which tend to be a bit more 'exotic' lobster linguine with garlic, chilli, white wine and cherry tomatoes, for example. The bruschetta is excellent: crusty bread with well seasoned tomatoes, basil and garlic. I usually have the penne arribiata, which has a nice chilli kick to it if you like it spicy, always best to mention that. Rounded off with a soft drink and a double espresso for approx. £15, it is definitely value for money. Staff are friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and all covid-19 precautions are taken. It may be a smaller restaurant, but the tables are still well spaced out.
Casual place for delicious lunch. We had good pastas, prawn salad, a bottle of house white wine. All good. There are more extensive menu for dinner. Friendly Owner. Recommend.
Very tasty... most enjoyable night... Made very welcome...
