Been meaning to come here for dinner for a while and managed to get a lunch date set up here instead. There were just 3 other tables taken up with customers but each course took about 45/60 minutes to get to us. As lovely as the food was, I was disappointed with the slow service. Never spent 2 and a half hours somewhere just for lunch before. I would happily come back and see what dinner service is like if any of my friends ever suggested it but not in a rush.
First time visiting this hidden gem . Stunning restaurant in Wenvoe, Vale of Glamorgan. I went for the rump of lamb medium to well and it was cooked to perfection. The crushed potatoes and large French beans were accompanied by a delicious port , Redcurrant and mint gravy . The staff were very friendly and helpful. And they do a cracking pint of Amstel. Was on my to do list , put it on yours , definitely highly recommended Vegetarian options: Been told the Thai Red vegetable curry is spot on for the vegetarian option Parking: We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and their was plenty of parking spaces in a closed area for piece of mind. Wheelchair accessibility: Excellent wheelchair access to the restaurant
If I could give a 0 I would. We have had, by far, the WORST dining/restaurant experience of our lives today at this inadequate restaurant/bar. My husband, myself and our 2 young boys came for a meal here today with family to celebrate my mother's birthday, only for it to be ruined by a careless, lazy staff member which whom I didn't catch her name because of how horrified I was at what had just happened poured boiling hot muscle sauce straight from the kitchen over the top of my 3 year old sons head. A mistake nobody in this profession should ever make and a mistake no parent/child should ever have to go through. Instead of going around the table to pass the plate to my father- she passed it directly over my sons head bearing in mind she also tried to juggle other plates. My husband and I are mortified. It continues with the establishment not even offering a FIRST AID KIT! but instead a dirty ripped tea towel with a few blocks of ice in it. My son was completely traumatised. It's really not worth the trip do not book here. Hopefully if the owner cares enough he will get rid of that careless woman serving food. Absolutely disgusting.
On the whole food was poor. No central heating, had to wear our costs. This was a lunch time booking. Steak was dreadful and fish and chips not good. When we mentioned this to waitress we explained that the food certainly wouldn't encourage us to make a return visit, she simply replied...well, there is nothing I can do about that. Couldn't care less it seemed. Won't return as there are plenty of places offering value for money and a warm welcome. Sorry I have to make a review like this. Parking: Plenty of parking as the restraunt was almost empty!
Went for Sunday lunch 2 course. To start I had pate, shop bought and a small single slice of toast. Main meal, not roast potatoes ,but deep fried , beef was cut with a meat slicer as it was so thin, big yorkies with soggy bottoms. All for £19.95 . Would I go again , probably not. We go out most every Sunday and from experience I know there's far better out there. Parking: OK for parking
Made very welcome on arrival good selection of drinks at the bar including non alcoholic drinks, once our party had all arrived and settled down we were invited to go to our table ready to have our meals served, all meals brought to us by excellent waiters so that everyone were able to eat at the same time. We all enjoyed an excellent meal including one person that wanted a off the menu meal. Would definitely return again and recommend to friends to go to
Went there with some friends for dinner. Service was good. Staff very helpful, accommodating and friendly. My friend ordered the Thai red curry, but it was extremely spicy. The waitress offered to change the dish and replaced it with another choice chosen by my friend. Both the Thai red curry and new dish were not charged on the bill. Portions were good. Starters, mains and desserts were very tasty. Prices were reasonable for the type of food served. Restaurant is quite deceiving as it looks bigger than it is due to the mirror. Parking available outside restaurant.
I won't be going there again as the food from my previous experience has declined. The steak that l had was of poor quality and not cooked the way that I asked. The only thing that was a saving grace was the service provided Parking: Plenty Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty
Never visited before, although those I was with, have done. Thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday Lunch, the mushroom starter was the best I've ever had. It seemed very quiet which made me feel a little uncomfortable as I felt we were holding the staff up from going home.
70 quid for 2 starters & 2 mains left feeling unsatisfied with the food, steak was sirloin when ordered ribeye, requested med rare come medium well, though the service wasn’t too bad but we were the only table for lunch just nothing special and certainly not worth the price basic pub grub with some garnish to make it look more high end, naff and won’t be returning…
