I had an appointment with Bernie, a nurse who made me feel like a person and not a single health condition. She looked at the “whole person” and didn’t just spout “trained narratives” but shared real life experience and good honest advice and encouragement to help me manage all of my health conditions better. She made me want to participate in managing my conditions in the best way that I can, whist bringing to my attention other available support and solutions that I did not know about. She wasn’t just going through the motions, she was fully engaged in getting the most out of the appointment and I can’t thank her enough for that.
Wouldn't recommend this practice. As new patient, not a good experience. Called bang on 8am, line busy, so I kept trying, after 20mins of trying g to get through, I got through, call could not me put through due to high call demand. Tried doing a patches, although response was quick, I was firstly told I wasn't registered even though I had received confirmation email over a week ago, eventually they found me only to be told patches online consults are for routine use, I was like fine 2-3 days, no, 2 weeks. My old practice was brilliant with patches and could get an appointment within afew day of using the online service. Wakefield area much better then Leeds, they off GPCW which is also an OOH service. Leeds off NHS 111. Which if your GP practice is open, they will refer you back to your own GP. NHS 111 unless urgent or for urgent medication absolutely useless. Why doesn't leeds have a service like GP care Wakefield!
I'm not a patient here but had been given an appointment as my practise was under pressure. It was a good experience. Not much of a wait, got to see a lovely doctor who took time to listdn and provided advice and possible solutions. Appeared to be clean and tidy. Thank you.
Got through at 08.01 to be told I was 24th in the queue. How on earth is this possible? I'm calling because GP has asked ME to call THEM!
Receptionist working at 30th May never have I ever come across a more rude member of staff to say this person is the main point of contact is appalling, I was trying to understand re a prescription and her attitude was awful. Advising me it’s not her problem. Absolutely appalling service from someone who is supposedly in the customer care sector.
Why an I still using this practice ? I booked online .I'm 64 and tried my best but got the wrong time .I went in.practice was empty but they couldn't see me .No help for the elderly !
Terrible service, nearly impossible to get an appointment. Receptionists and doctors just dont care. Badly run and the worst and most useless online web services.
Worst booking system ever, constantly rude receptionists and even worse doctors. If I can ever actually get an appointment after being on hold for 25 minutes, they like to belittle me and tell me that my problems are all in my head even though I'm physically disabled. Horrible service.
Hang up on you once you get through after waiting on hold. Unhelpful and poor service. Doctor is the only saving grace if you manage to get through eventually.
If you can actually get to see a GP they're fine. The telephone appointment system since covid is awful. There needs to be a return to face to face appointments- I'm saying this as a nurse myself who has worked throughout the pandemic. It's not acceptable to have a booked telephone appointment and then the call take place 1-2 hours after this time. When appointments were in person my appointments would never run this late. I missed a call from a GP today as I was driving. I called back within 15min but they got my answerphone as I was already trying to call them- left a message saying I have to rebook! I've already waited two weeks for this appointment. No wonder the A&E department I work in is so busy......
