This used to be the best Chippy in town, but in the last couple of years it’s gone downhill. I thought I’d give it another go. The batter was wet and falling off the fish, the chips tasted stale and lacked any bite, the staff just aren’t as friendly as they used to be. Long Eaton Chippy on College Street holds the crown now IMO.

Asked for a battered sausage and chips , got a sausage that looked like it had already eaten its own batter. Typical georges stingy as hell even with batter it seems
Very poor indeed! The large cod I had was like rubber and the chips were barely warm. I have no idea which week the cod was cooked but it wasn't cooked fresh within the last 30 minutes thats for sure. My wifes meal wasn't much better. £14 for rubberized fish and chips yummy!
Lovely fish and chips, cooked to perfection
used to be great, gone right downhill, the lass behind the counter obviously didnt want to be there and took it out with vinegar covering our dinners in so much the fish was practically swimming again. sort it out guys.

Great old fashioned chippie. Staff very friendly indeed. Homemade fish cake is fantastic! Lost a star as I dont like chips in boxes thats all. Like them in wrappers. But can't fault anything else.
