The car park is a good size. The member of staff work in a small hut but are very happy and helpful. There is only one toilet which is kept clean and tidy. Geilston house is unfortunately closed but you can see from a plaque outside how it would have looked when the family lived here. They grow there own fruit and vegetable in the kitchen garden that you can buy during certain time of the year. There's a few paths that are easy to follow but tree roots/grass cover a large part of the paths and it makes it a bit uneven and slippy in the wet. There's a small play area made of wood and there's a few picnic tables dotted about as well. The walled gardens are very well looked after and there a few benches about to enjoy the quiet. There is no cafe but you can get tea/coffee/ice cream/crisps from staff at the hut.
Very quiet, calm and beautiful place, woods, walled gardens and greenhouse, home grown vegetables.Gardens are Ideal for toddlers and young children.Lots of green space for them to run and some great quiet picnic spots. On a saturday in summer very few people there, amazing ! - we had such a lovely day. It's National Trust, worth joining just for that. Playground: Not a sandpit type one , but the gardens and orchards are lovely for children to run around in. Restrooms: Clean , excellent Dog-friendliness: Dogs not in walled gardens Picnic area: Excellent spots
We visited the gardens not knowing what to expect and we were delighted by the stunning display of daffodils. I have never seen so many daffodils in one place. The heathers were a stunning. A good display of tulips, bluebells, azalea and rhododendrons were just starting. Definitely a hidden gem of a garden and worth hunting out. Please note the postcode if used in the sat nav takes you to the wrong road when coming from The Hill House. The garden is slightly further along on the left.
Nice garden, it is owned by national trust there are some nice sections, like vegetable garden and old tree. There is plenty of space to park, at the moment there is no coffee shop or anything which is a slight disappointment.
We visited at probably the best time of year to go as the Rhododendrons were in full flower and were spectacular. The garden is essentially a woodland area with a walled garden and pretty flower beds. No cafe, just hot drinks at entrance and loos
A beautiful, quiet garden with pleasant walks and interesting gardens. Butterflies were enjoying the dahlias. The vegetable garden was busy and we were able to purchase some produce. The blueberries were the best I've ever tasted!
Lovely walks through the gardens. It's quite big too, I would say summer would be beautiful but still lots to see in autumn. They have a vegetable patch and you can buy produce, looking forward to our dinner tomorrow!
Beautiful, tranquil place. Lovely woodland walks. Will try to visit again in summer when everything will be in bloom
What a beautiful place. Staff are friendly and helpful. We'll be back thanks to our National trust membership!
Had a good visit here. Beautiful garden and colours worth a visit.
