Lot's of homemade cakes, cream tea's, ice cream, clotted cream and fudge! Good prices, and cakes were nice. Also a toy shop upstairs. Seemed a very popular place, but lot's of staff so we were served quickly. It's opposite the park by the sea front, near the railway station.
They look so nice and we were going to get some clotted cream on the way back from the beach, but we ran out of time. I love the boxes of toffee to say thank you for looking after our cats, dogs or house!
Called in with a newbie to the area. Her first time and it wasn't disappointing. We had the full on I e cream with cream and flake, at £3.80. it was the best money I've spent in a long long time. It was.just superb. Everything I had promised was delivered. It's on her list of visits with friends in the future. Just a wonderful experience all around. Staff great, terrific selection of pastries and delicatessen type foods together with other other incidentals. It's worth the trip wherever you are coming from. Well be back
Would love to give 5 stars the but Cornish pasty was very poor. Pastry all broken and tasted awful. The scones and ice cream was to die for. Hopefully was just a bad day
Best traditional pasty I've ever had... the quiche is out of this world...
My first ever visit to the quaint little seaside town of Dawlish. I bought a takeaway cream tea for one - generous helping of clotted cream & jam on a fruit scone! Also bought a couple of bottles of Gays Creamery ale and some "I Gays Creamery" Key rings. Some tasty looking, freshly made cuisine an assortment of quiches, pasties and cakes - all that's needed to make this even better is to include more vegetarian/vegan options with the savouries and lots of choice of quirky souvenirs too.
Great place to stop at and stock up for your journey home. Freshly made pasties, pies and cakes good size portions too. Scones fruit or plain with clotted cream and jam plated up ready. Local bottled beers, ciders, gins as well as wine. Chutneys, jams and preserves. Fudge, rock, biscuits as well as toys. Well worth visiting on your way home from Devon.
Brilliant ice cream, and reasonably priced Pasties and other baked goods always smell good, And an excellent spot for presents if you are on holiday Also the black swans in the river are worth seeing
Visited once, went back 2 more times in 3 days! Amazing ice cream and wonderful bakery - no wonder our friends told us it was a must visit.
Entering gays creamery seems like narnia, however after 1 look around u realise ur amongst circus animals - The 2 stars is for the number of options of you get! Either a cold meat pasty left out to ferment - or a cold pasty under a lamp ! The entertainment however was priceless - Not sure if the £3 scoop of ice cream from a tub from Asda was a better deal, or maybe the jumble of stodgy pastry of vegan mixed with raw mince to get a full range of ur five a day. Overall, would come again.
