We had brunch at Boxty yesterday and it was a great experience. Our waiter David looked after us really well and also suggested some good pubs and bars to visit whilst in Dublin. The pancakes are amazing. If you are going to Dublin you must pay this traditional Irish restaurant a visit. Highly recommended! 👍

Great Irish Stew!👌

Sorry, forgot to get pictures, after a long day of site seeing in Ireland in February. I was cold to the bone, I asked my Taxi driver the best place for Irish stew.  He suggested Boxty House, and took us there.  Nice location near the Temple area. Nice war fire place. Excellent staff!! They made it fun quick service great food. You will enjoy it!

Excellent Irish Stews. Great service with a smile. A good choice of Irish beer, whiskey and cider. It's pretty much an absolute must visit!

My husband and I had a terrible experience at this restaurant.  We only made it as far as  inside the front door, despite making a reservation more than 1 week in advance. No comment on the food as we left long before we got to that point. 

The hostess was very argumentative  and contemptuous towards us, escalating a situation which could have been easily diffused by a few words of reassurance that our table would be ready in due course. 

She then called forward for seating another party before my party as retaliation toward us for voicing our frustrations at (a) not being seated at the reserved time and (b) the chaotic scenes inside the door of the restaurant which saw people with no reservations being seated before people with reservations. 

The member of staff that I dealt with has neither the personality nor the manners to be working in a customer facing position. 

Needless to say  we walked out and we will never return. 

If I could give zero stars I would, all because of that one  individual. 

Manager/owner take note..your hostess let your establishment down terribly with her spiteful behavior. She’s a liability to your business and should be removed from the payroll.

If your looking for a way to sample everything I recommend what I'll call the Boxty Sample This meal.
Jack Smyth beer flight, The Boxty Sampler app, and the stew sampler platter. Plenty for 2 ppl and all delicious. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Definitely recommend for tourists.
