One of our best dining experiences yet. The Gaerwen Arms boasts faultless service and great quality food. One of the greatest meals we've had as a family. A well run establishment with thoughtful staff. Keep up the high standards. Don't forget to stir the cocktails though
The food and service here was absolutely incredible with a wonderful view. The pub is dog-friendly and they were kind enough to bring ours water and treats as well. The staff were so attentive. We were celebrating becoming engaged earlier in the day and they went above and beyond. The food locally sourced was so good we came back the next day for Sunday lunch and had what my now fiancé described as "the best soup he's ever had". We were on holiday and live six hours away but I'd drive back just for the lobster risotto. Thank you so much to all the team here. If the manager reads these reviews, please give all of the kitchen and bar staff a huge pat on the back because they're doing a brilliant job and we couldn't have had a better time. Thank you! Parking: Ample parking.
What a gem! In terms of food, this was without a doubt one of the best surprises this year. Varied pub menu and though I’ve been for lunch, the evening dishes looked very very good. Decent price as well and great views from the terrace.
Great food, great service, really nice place, very pretty surroundings. Relaxed atmosphere, good beer selection. Dog friendly too for well behaved dogs :- I will definitely return.
Frankly the food and dining experience was out of this world, at very reasonable prices! Loved the steak tartare. I’m hesitant to put this out there publicly because I’m afraid we’ll never be able to get another booking!
The local leek and potato starter was out of this world, because of this we were really looking forward to the tofu curry we had ordered for our mains. However unfortunately this was what let them down. Hense the 3 star. The tofu was meant to be marnitated, but wasn't at all and was very bland. The tofu was slighty watery as if it wasn't pressed at all firm tofu needs to be pressed as part of its preparation. I loved the idea of a Chinese curry which the sauce was and the addition of tofu and pac choi but it was like they had tried to combine Indian and Chinese cuisine, it didnt make much sense. Would have loved to see a welsh and indian/Chinese combination instead if that was the style they were going for. In saying that the onion bhajis were lovely, had nice flavour to them. Would have been great to have more sauce with the dish as well, was so little sauce that the naan became obselete. The presentation was fantastic. The overall atmosphere was very cold sadly. The younger female staff were really nice and good at their jobs. Overall I do appracaite that they are unlikely to cook for vegans often with it being in such a remote location and it was nice to see a vegan option. However the main course does need tweaking and perhaps another look at. The starter was amazing, absolutely no faults. Would come back for the starter.
What a gem. Food was amazing, so was the service. We will definitely be eating here again
Wasn't expecting what I experienced yesterday and that's always the best scenario. Food was spectacular, service superb, cleanliness first class. I stopped for food, thinking this looks like a good pub for pub grub, I like all aspects of dining out, be in fine dining to pub grub when I had my first course onion soup, I was taken aback but the flavour, it was rich, smooth and worked very well. The second course was the steak, cooked to perfection and presented well on the plate with the sides. Lastly the pebble dessert. This was simply unreal. It has to be up there with one of my favourite desserts. I'm glad I found this little gem, you should all give it a try.
Lovely pub and reataurant with nice athmoshere and very hospitable staff. Lovely menu and good cider. Nice steak and lovely pudding. Parking: Good entrance and enough patkingspace Wheelchair accessibility: Good accesable from car park
We visited The Gaerwen Arms as part of a December Girls weekend away. There were 4 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience dining in the restaurant. The food was delicious - the Turkey in particular! The service was wonderful and they even brought out a surprise desert for one of our friends who was the birthday girl which was such a lovely touch. Thanks to all the staff for being so friendly and welcoming. We liked our visit so much, we're returning to nearby Dwyran for a trip in Summer 2023 and we'll back to visit for sure! Parking: Lots of parking on site
