Excellent days golf at the 4bbb open hosted by Furness GC. What can you not like about the place for £15pp and the chance to win some prizes. The course is a classic old links course, right along the costal path. My preference is for the front 9, and the next few holes before the course works back inland. These first 12 holes all have plenty of character and are a good test of golf. A few more signs for the first time visitor would be helpful in directing us to the next tees, and a set of swing net closer to the first would be nice to loosen up before the round begins. The food in the club house was extremely well priced and the quantity and quality of food was excellent. The service was also very welcoming. This course is worth a visit if you have not played there before and is excellent value.
Decent knock/CourseThe First 7holes R Quite a Treat then the course Gets Bk too normality But worth a visit‍
Fantastic links course with some great views to sea and the lakes, a few really challenging holes, well worth the trip over from Heysham. Would recomend any golfer to give it a go.
Great food good atmosphere, reasonable bar prices, lovely evening
3rd oldest Links Course in England. It is in excellent condition and a true Links challenge.
A lovely post party Sunday family lunch. Great surroundings with a fabulous view over the greens and out to the Irish Sea. Pleasant ambiant dining room upstairs. Cloakrooms downstairs. Great value and choice of menu both Sunday roast or Al Acarte. Perfect if you are hungry as portion size is good. Booking is important as it can be busy.
Good golf club with view of the sea and shore. Good terrain to practice your skills.
Delicious dinner at a great price. We are not members but we’re made to feel really welcome. I can’t praise the service, food and hospitality enough. I would recommend you go there except I’d like to keep it a secret because dinner at Walney Gold Club is too good to share.
The food itself was Ok,but it was over an hour to get it.There were no cutlery on table, and even when the food arrived, we had to ask for the cutlery. The two young staff were pleasant, but flustered. Would give it a second chance,to see if this is the standard or just a blip.
Always a nice place to visit. Good beer lovely clean place and good views over the course and Irish Sea
