I was pleasantly surprised how clear the water was, I never seen it like that before. It was a still, warm sunny day and families were enjoying being beside the seaside. There is disabled access via a ramp in a couple of areas, but the incline is steep, so if you are pushing a wheelchair beware! There are facilities on the beach, toilets and ice-cream stands. It was a bit too crowded for me. It would be a nicer place to visit during the week, or when the kids are at school.

A lovely clean beach. There is a lot of free parking available and the bublic toilets are clean and well looked after. Entry costs 20p though and make sure to have a 20p coin. The beach itself is clean and ideal for long walks. The nearby town centre has many weird and wonderful whops and we did not struggle to find something to eat and drink. The golf club is walking distance from the beach which makes it even better. It is possible to walk to Walton on the Naze along the beach walkway which is a lovely walk.

Outside Cornwall and Devon, Frinton has the best beach in Britain, in my opinion. This is a beautiful, clean sandy beach, and not excessively crowded. It ideal for families. Almost unbelievably, parking is free, which is consistent with Frinton's ethos as a non-commercial resort. The long promenade is lined with traditional beach huts and accessed from the cliffs by long hairpin ramps. Wooden staircases lead from the promenade to the beach, which is divided into sections by long groynes. The sand is flat and firm, so ideal for baby's first independent steps. The public toilets are situated on the promenade, next to beach hut 561, and are kept in a reasonable state. South of the toilets, no dogs are allowed on the beach in peak season (May to September) and there is a £500 penalty for transgressors. There are no amusements other than the beach, and no refreshments, and this is entirely a good thing. Anyone who wants that sort of experience would better go to nearby Clacton, where the parking is not free!

Frinton has always been a quiet place. There are no amusements or children's rides. The beach itself is accessible down a steepish cliff path. The sands are beautifully clean, even in the dog walking season. I like Frinton because it is so uncommercialised, if such a word exists!

Good sand. Great for dogs and kids. High Street with traditional shop fronts and greensward with wide views. Art deco housing towards Walton end
