Great place with wide open parkland for the children to play games. Many park benches and picnic areas with seating. Large kids playground. Cafe good and served light snacks but can get busy. Walk down the canal with its wildlife and visit the miniature railway it was a great hit with the kids lots of fun. Would visit again.
I visited a couple of weeks ago to do the parkrun that takes place there on Saturday mornings. The parkrun I can wholeheartedly recommend. It's the friendliest volunteer group organising it that I've come across so far. Anyway, the park is lovely too. Good facilities with a shop, café and toilets. The parking was also free. It got very busy mid-morning so if you want a guaranteed spot then turn up early. The grounds were nice too. The run went across grassy bits, along the river and through some woods. There's plenty of open space to play on and have a picnic. There were a coupe of picnic tables outside, but not that many as far as I could see, so perhaps bring a blanket or your own chairs. Overall though a nice place for a walk, game of football, or picnic.
Great place for a day out with the kids. Between duck feeding, BBQ pits, train rides, the park and the activity trail they were spoilt for choice of what to do first! The park is really clean, and the free parking is a blessing. Train rides we're £1.50 when we visited and while long, the queue moved quickly with lots of trains on. Didn't visit the cafe, so cannot judge, but the loos we're decent and we'll provided for regarding baby change and accessible facilities. Would definitely recommend and will be back!
Walking the Greywell trail will take you along the canal via St John's Castle. Odiham Castle is a ruined castle situated near Odiham in Hampshire, United Kingdom. It is one of only three fortresses built by King John during his reign. The site was possibly chosen by King John because he had visited the area in 1204. Always worth a visit.
We met up with friends and had a fantastic day out. Lots of free parking, lovely walk along the canal and a great play area. Loads of space for the kids to charge around
Lovely park with vast meadows and a great riverside walk. There are 7 barbecue stands here, you can call and book them ahead of time. Click on the link in the about section, it's very easy and simple to book.
Love this place and it's great for kids, especially younger ones. The park is good and well maintained. There is a miniature railway which is good fun. The cafe is decent and there is plenty of seating. Loads of grassy play areas too. The canal runs alongside and is good for walks either way as well, with the Canal Centre a short walk away. Football and cricket is played here by local kids teams as well. And loads of parking. There are also picnic areas and clean public toilets. Good for a few hours out and as a place to meet friends with kids for a coffee.
Lovely place for walk and picnic. Kids always enjoy spending time at the play area. Cafe is good too
Lovely park with various walks, football pitches, All weather surface, cafe, trim trail etc. Can also walk down the canal from here Very good pitch and putt. Greens could be maintained a bit better but all in all very pleased. Family of 4 is £20
A lovely park with free and ample parking. There's a beautiful canal walk and two sets of playground areas for the children one is slightly hidden and rather small but the larger park seems to be quite popular and has a good range of apparatus. The cafe in the park is fantastic. The portion sizes are wonderful - yes, slightly on the premium side but definitely worth it, quality and fresh ingredients. All in all, recommended of you're in the area. Playground: Two available, but the larger playground is the one to go for. Restrooms: Clean. Dog-friendliness: Plenty of dogs on scene! Picnic area: Plenty of picnic areas and tables for use
