About

Fresh Food Centre Castlewellan & Warrenpoint are independent retailers at the heart of the local community in both these small towns.

Story

Our main aim is to provide our customers with the best shopping experience in a local friendly atmosphere. The Fresh Food Centres started trading in Castlewellan twenty five years ago and the main focus was on fresh meat. Over these years we have developed in to a one stop family shop with fresh produce and meat still our main focus. All our produce and vegetables are sourced direct from the markets or local farmers within a 40mile radius of our stores and our fresh fish is sourced from Marty Johnston in Ballyhornan. I hope that all customers enjoy their shopping experience with us and that we our able to fulfill our strapline "Big Choice, Local Value"

Sunday lunch today. Purchased 2 small lunches from the hot food counter. The vegetables were lovely but I can only describe the turkey and ham serving as paper thin and minimalist. I did query it and was told that was all the serving allowed for both small and large dinners. I felt sorry for the lovely girl that was serving. It must have been embarrassing for her.
I would have given the fresh food centre 5 starts but this has gone too far picture this. It's a hot sunny summer's day and I'm craving something sweet but yet sour. I'm craving golden chunky pieces of yummy sweet goodness. Only to be serverely disappointed by what I received from The Fresh Food Centre. I travelled a great distance to receive my chunky pineapple, I walked in and stumbled upon these golden chunks of what I presumed what was my mouth watering joy of pineapple chunks but as I opened the lid, I gazed into that plastic tub and to my horror and disbelief not only was there a slightly browned piece of pineapple or two but THREE!!! There was a promising by my uncle that there was lots of unexpected and uncertainty in this lifetime but never did I think that it would be in my safe space..The Fresh Food Centre in Castlewellan. Once was a place of promise, happiness and joy. A promise land if you will, but now I roam these isles like a lost soul not knowing and where to buy pineapples slices. My trust is completely and utterly broken. What do I do? Me.. an 18 year old minor. My trust has been taken away by this corporate greed of Castlewellans local Fresh Food centre. Not only is this tearing our town apart, it's killing me inside. This experience has bemused me. I am young.. however, if an elderly person experienced this I think they'd have a heart attack.
Not going to say too much but as I was leaving the store I heard a worker talking to her colleague about an unpleasant experience with the customer who was struggling to find an item it was a young girl with brown curly hair who was talking to her colleague . Not what I wanted to hear while shopping. Disgusting customer service.
I was your customer 12years. But that's enough. I didn't say anything when your staff charged me 60p instead 40p peach/nectarine They have to know which one is peach and witch one is nectarine.  Next time was when I been charged 1.40, for I don't know what? Your staff checked my shopping bag again and it didn't was anything for that price. After that I start to take my all check. But most who killed me, was when I've been asked to payed twice.  Just because your manager doesn't know how to used till and what does it mean pending transactions. Please explain her! If your card machine shows payment accept it's mean I'd been charged! And she shouldn't ask me to pay again. I'd tried really hard to explain what I was already charged. Good thing what I've got my money back after couple days. It was my last shopping!
