Popped in for lunch. The food was good, the staff were friendly and the cafe/deli was a nice place to be even alone. I didn't have anything from the deli counter but there were pies, quiches, meats, olives, stuffed peppers, cheeses and much more. There was also lots of amazing looking homemade cakes and fresh breads. Will definitely be back to sample some of that quiche!
Lovely atmosphere, sells bread, rolls, alcohol, meals, variety of teas and coffees, very homely, baby changing, inside downstairs and upstairs eating, very pretty, polite and friendly staff, card payments accepted, beautiful cakes, slightly costly but delicious
Extremely Poor Customer Service and misleading advertisement. I Ordered a Festive Platter, 5 of the items where either missing or replaced with poor alternatives without Communication. For £28 I expect better. Communication was poor leading to accusations from FB communicator of all the mishaps being down to myself the customer. I was offered replacement or refund but when I arrived back to the establishment I was then told the picture was 4 years old and by another member of staff that I would have to wait 30 minutes minimum for it to be prepared so I opted for a refund. The fb person told me about the wait once i had already travelled to the establishment. The person behind their Facebook communication told me that if I put a review of them online they would just respond with pictures of my "rude" messages. Nightmare from start to finish. The food ended up being only half the problem due to the messing about and accusations from the communication behind Facebook.
Great little deli. Excellent coffee and wide choice of meals and snacks. Eat in or takeaway. All their produce is locally sourced.
Great food and fantastic staff. Always my first choice. I can see why the breakfast is award winning.
Friendly little deli offering a range of local produce including the outstanding Angry Farmer goats cheese. Simply delicious.
Fantastic food, good deli, excellent bread and great staff. Always a pleasure eating here. Take out food/preserves/tipple is also a winner in every respect too! They serve one of the best breakfasts around, but also have plenty of cakes to accompany you coffee if you're just after a natter. Building is the old railway station and as such is packed full of character and original ironworks. Can't rate this place more!
Awful! Went in for breakfast cobs this morning 13/10/17 at 9.35am. I noticed that there were only a few tables seated so was expecting to get my breakfast cobs fairly quickly. I ordered 2 sausage egg and bacon cobs to take out. I asked how much it was and was told £8. I thought this was a little expensive but was really hungry. I mentioned to the server that I would go and get some money from the bank. Upon my return I was told that the cobs would be 10 minutes. 10 minutes? but there was 7 people seated??? I waited. Someone came in behind me to pick up their cobs, they were asked what sort of cob they would like granary white or brown. I then asked the server why I wasn't given the choice. She apologized. The breakfast chef had an awful cold and was sniffing continually. Not the best personal hygiene at all. I eventually got my cobs at 9.55. The display fridges looked half empty as though they might be closing down. No cold meats and very little choice in general. Not good on the service at all. The cobs are decent though.
We visited whilst on holiday in the area. Great coffee, fantastic cake tip: Victoria sponge & Lemon Drizzle, and fresh & tasty paninis tip: pork & stuffing; pesto & mozzarella. Nice street-side seating on a quiet street with architecturally interesting Belper-esque buildings. Would recommend for a visit.
Visited on Saturday and decided to eat in with our food. Was told that the prices would be different to the ones on the chalk board if we choose to eat in fully understandable then after ordering presented with an outrageously expensive bill that seemed made up on the spot. Maybe if the prices are different for eating in they should state two prices like everywhere else does instead of going up to pay and being presented with what seems like a lucky dip.
