Wasted my time with this company. I chose them as my neighbour had been happy with them and that seemed good enough for me. I am disabled and my life is hard every day so I really resent having my precious time wasted. It all started out so well with Martin's first visit where I explained that the problem with the existing windows in my living room is that they are sash windows but I do not have enough strength in my arms to be able to open them and always need my husband to open and close the window for me which is a nuisance for both of us. Martin suggested we come to his show room to try a window handle in order to be sure I would be able to open it myself.This we did and I was unable to open the window of the type that would be fitted. Martin discussed my problem with one of his men and he thought he could get the windows made up with the handles a bit lower to enable me to be able to open the window myself. I was delighted to hear this and told Martin I was not contacting any other window company as his company had been so highly recommended to me. We arranged a date for Martin to come to our flat and measure up for the windows. This he did and also gave me a quote which was absolutely fine. I asked him when he could fit the windows and he asked me when would suit me. As we are away a lot I told him I would look at my diary and give him a list of suitable dates. I did that later that day and also said if none of my suggested dates were suitable for him , to let me know and I would give him some dates further ahead. This was the last I heard from Martin. When nearly a week had gone by and I had heard nothing from him , I emailed Martin again asking if he could firm up on a suitable date. Again I heard nothing and so for the first time I googled reviews for Freelance Windows and that is where I learned that although some people were indeed delighted ,with his company , others were not and I learnt that he has form for just not responding to people. It is bad enough that this man has treated anyone in this despicable fashion but to treat someone who is disabled in this fashion is quite shameful.
Extremely disappointed. The evening before the agreed date the owner called to request if he could rearrange the previously agreed time. I agreed and travelled to be at the property at an earlier time. He arrived late not very late, but late given he had rearranged the time. The visit was manic, but friendly, we discussed what had to be done and possible solutions. I received quotes. We accepted one quote door but couldn’t accept another windows as other options became available repair and possibly replace only some of the windows. I asked for more information re: repair/replace. I heard nothing. I sent emails confirming, again that we accepted the door quote and needed more information on the windows. Still nothing. Not a peep. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t write a negative review of a small local business but… my valuable time has been wasted. It’s time that could have been better allocated and I’m not at all happy at being ignored. So much for trying to support a small, local business. I gave one star as I received no service other than the owner visit.
Exceptional service from Freelance Window! Martin, the owner, was a lifesaver. I called on a public holiday hoping for advice on a damaged window handle caused by my tenant. To my surprise, Martin answered, and within 30 mins, he arrived and fixed the issue promptly. The service, from start to finish and even aftercare, was top-notch. Highly recommend!
Poorly installed and finished and worse customer care. Had to have three attempts before they were left in an acceptable? state. Ladies, this little man actually said that he would call back and ‘speak to my man’.
Used this company 4 times over the last 32 years. Fantastic job. Martin the owner is a fascinating character and we always enjoy him coming to measure up and have a good blether. Banter is excellent . Thanks again troops another job done 100% satisfied. Pauline and Gregor x
Freelance Windows recently did a great job replacing my old double glazed windows with triple glazed Rehau units.
