The guys at work recommended Frasers after I asked what the fish & chips were like. I can confirm they are outstanding, the chips were freshly cooked and tasted great, a little soft but par-for-the-course as all other chip shops. The fish was fresh, the portion was slightly smaller than we get in Suffolk but the batter was light, tasty and not at all greasy, the best bit was the fillet of cod was cooked with no skin on and the cod just fell away from the batter. one of the best fish & chips I've had and I live on the coast and have sampled a fair few in my time. I will be back.

Lets face it, Britain has 1000's of fish shops, many are good, some are great and some are outstanding. This is in the latter range. The chips are large, hot and you get a decent portion. The fish is just above average, the Cod is a nice size and well flavored. They have a good range of pies and fritters. The staff are what you expect in a northern British Village friendly and direct, they have a chat to locals so one would expect in time you would be treated as one. Did I mention the chips? You will go back for more.

Brilliant place, great chips and huge range on the menu, Cumberland sausage that is amazing, homemade lasagne and pies as well as traditional chippy offerings, fish, patties etc. If you are in or visiting West Cumbria this is the place to go for the best Fish and chips by far! They have a take away chip shop and a sit down cafe too!
