We had 30 minutes to spare between the cafe opening and a bus we needed to catch for a hike and this lovely place fed us a brilliant full English vegan breakfast and prepared us delicious sandwiches with vegan cheese and pickle to take with us for the day. Absolute life savers as we had more or less run out of food by this point on our trip. Lovely friendly service, delicious food, great value and so happy to see great vegan options. Definitely pop in if you're in the area
Love this little cafe in Princetown. Had a lovely Salcombe ice cream and cup of tea with alternative oat milk available! for a good price. I think most items from the menu are locally sourced. Service was quick and there was plenty of tables and parking with the new ANPR system 3 hours register inside. Nice to see they allow dogs inside to! Wheelchair accessible from the front entrance to! Food & drinks: Lovely locally sourced menu at really good prices. Caters for alternative dietary requirements too.
The service was great. Coffees and cake were excellent. A little on the pricey side. Bought takeaway sandwiches, which were nice and chunky but didn't have any salad or sauce or anything extra. A ham sandwich was just that ..ham and bread so made them a little dry. Good atmosphere though and seemed busy.Service: 5/5
Fox Tor Cafe is a must-visit location in the moorland town of Princetown. Very clean and very welcoming, it's a fantastic place for light bites, a coffee, or a full meal. The ploughman's lunches are excellent. Free parking out back you MUST register inside and lovely clean toilets.Service: 5/5
We stopped for a cream tea, like you do in Cornwall, but decided that we would prefer a savoury lunch. I was very happy with my choice. The service was fine but I felt like I was just next in the queue rather than being welcomed with a smile. The food was promptly served and obviously freshly cooked. Food & drinks: Bangers and mash were good and good value for money.
I'd been looking to coming here whilst visiting Devon. It was highly recommended for a gluten free cream tea. We made the trip out to find it closed early, 3:30 when the website says 4. There were plenty of people still there so we asked if we could just buy some scones to take away with us but were told no. Extremely disappointed.
Excellent range of home cooked foods. Menu available online. Parking at rear with video parking system free to customers, but remember to add your Reg. to the pad inside, or scan the barcode on the tables - the fine is ridiculous, but necessary.Rooms: 4/5
Located in the heart of Princetown this is a fantastic café popular with cyclists and walkers alike. Just opposite the Dartmoor visitors centre which is definetly worth a trip too. Breakfast is excellent and includes quality filter coffee too. Has a car park which you can stay up to 3 hours in but don't forget to enter your registration. Nearby activities: Dartmoor! Plenty of walks and the visitor centre is excellent too. Food & drinks: Great value and fully range of local produce including pasties.
Lovely, popular cafe in the heart of Princeton. Great atmosphere, and well behaved dogs are welcome inside. If the sun is shining, the outside seating area is more than double the inside space, and perfectly sheltered. Car park to rear as well. The food we ordered was very nice, really fresh and hot. A return visit is definitely on the horizon.
I grow up here and am disappointed in the coffee. Every time I go to fox for I ask how hot the milk was and they can never answer me. If you’re going to sell coffee please get someone to teach your staff how to properly make it. You always burn the coffee it’s bitter and it’s been like this the last ten times I’ve been in. And at £4:50 ish for what you call a large coffee I want it to taste right.
