Called for a table around 6pm, sat down to eat at 6.30pm yesterday. Staff were all friendly and nothing was a problem, typical pub grub which all came out quickly, clean plates so can't ask for anymore. Good selection of beers too, we will be back when we are in the area againService: 5/5
Great location, absolutely lovely hosts in the pub who couldn't do enough to help. Only downside was, we stayed in the room downstairs next to the door which meant that the noisy couple upstairs kept us awake with their stomping, shouting and comings and goings at late hours. Would book again as the room was clean but would request an upstairs room.
Lovely traditional old pub with a great selection of beers in a lovely location. Well worth a visit. Don't expect fine dining but as a traditional English pub, its spot on.
Lovely setting. Staff are lovely as well. Nothing is too much trouble. Big menu. Food is of a very good standard and reasonably priced. Noteworthy details: In a very pretty and attractive village surrounded by stunning scenery.
A lovely welcoming pub,and the food is excellent.were staying in the village for the week,i think we'll be spending a lot of time in there.
We booked a one night stay in the Fox and Hounds a place we had not visited in 25 years Nothing had changed to be honest, picturesque village, lovely walks and a nice small pub. The room was nice although basic We were happy with the price charged, the breakfast was as expected and the surroundings comfortable. The people in the pub on the night were fairly friendly. We will 100% return again soon for another few night's away. The only two points I would change would be to offer a slightly earlier breakfast so you can eat and be off for the day earlier and I think a larger TV is a must in the room. All in all a very nice stay. Thank you to the host and we hope to see you again soon
Had a nice meal there after the local pub where we was staying was fully booked and no effort made to accommodate. The fox and hound is set in a lovely location. Food was filling and reasonably priced. We was given a tab too. Good friendly service. Would visit again when in the area as the other pub has lost our future businessService: 5/5
Staff at bar unfriendly and seriously overcharged us for 2 soft drinks - cost almost £5.00 for one small and one large blackcurrant and soda soda from a pump! Most pubs/bars up and down country charge about £1.80 to £3.00 max for same. We were planning on having the soft drinks snd then staying for meal and some alcoholic drinks but the rip off charge put us off so we went elsewhere where similar drinks cost less than £2.00.
Walked in the bar area and asked if room was available, Yes £80, Oh it's £70 on the Web, but ok, do you want me to pay cash to save you the Web commission. Oh your twisting my arm , I said, what you on about I'm trying save you money, Anyhow said we'd Come back after a walk for the room. Saw the guy walking his dog 1/2 hour later, ! morning ! No reply We thought miserable g-t Doesn't deserve our business. Anyhow, wentt to check the room later after our walk, got a drink, the bar area wasn't very clean, Staff weren't friendly. Went past the kitchen, Said to my wife , I'm not eating here , got to the room, it wasn't very nice and the bathroom wasn't clean. We left the key and didn't stay. So that'should tell you about the place. We stayed in a very nice, clean pub not far away. Just to reply, we bought drinks in your bar, the server was not friendly, myself and my wife checked the room and shower, it was not nice. We saw your dirty ,rusty fridges that you keep food in, and making a honest review is not malicious. I think you were the only person who didn't say good morning to us that day !
Found this lively little place mid very rainy walk and it was lovely and warm with really friendly staff! The food was lovely and good price!Service: 5/5
