Passing on way home and dropped in and glad we did. Great restaurant with an amazing chef and the food was well presented and tasted with lots of flavours. The staff was very professional and spot on in attracting your eye to the specials that we had with dessert. I highly recommend a visit and will definitely try to get back some time. Thanks for great meal.
We had an evening meal here on a Sunday. The food was very good other than the flatbread was way too big and would have been fine at half the size. The waiting on staff were very friendly and attentive and the guy strumming his guitar kept us entertained. Definitely recommend
Great place, lovely and clean and friendly staff, food is excellent! The breakfast is massive and will certainly set you up for the day! Comfy bed, decent shower and in a great location in the town! I everything is just a short walk away so yeah! Great spotRooms: 5/5
We visited here on our weekend away in the Lake District. We did reserve a table here as we were visiting on a Saturday night and as we walked in there was actually only one table left, which was our table. There is more seating upstairs though, but that also seemed busy. It was a lovely evening with good food and entertainment. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff that assisted us to our table and gave us a drinks menu and food menu. Both menus offered a wide range of choices, something for everyone from cocktails to mocktails on the drinks menu, and curry's to burgers and wraps on the food menu. We opted for a bottle of Sauvignon to drink which was very easy drinking. For starters we ordered the garlic, prawn and chorizo pil pil, this was very tasty but not the same as a traditional pil pil we’ve had before in Spain. It had less garlic and chilli, and peppers instead. For the mains we ordered the chicken katsu curry and the BBQ pulled pork and mozzarella wrap. The portions were large and great value for the money, they were also very tasty too. We also ordered a dessert despite being very full from the starter and main but we’re glad we did! We opted for the biscoff waffle and an Affogato. The Affogatto wasn’t actually on the menu but was served upon our request, which was great service! Both of the desserts were delicious. When we arrived at the restaurant we noticed that there was going to be a live singer that evening. By 9pm the restaurant had evolved from being a nice casual restaurant to a lovely bar where the singer had people up dancing and singing along, it was amazing entertainment! We booked for 7:30pm which was timed perfectly for the entertainment starting after we finished our meal, any later and we may have been eating as the lively entertainment started. We did also order a mojito which unfortunately was quite disappointing, being extremely syrupy with lots of sugar at the bottom, but other than that we have absolutely no reason to fault this place. The service, staff, food, value and entertainment were all brilliant and if we ever return to the Lake District, we will certainly visit here again.
We wrnt on a Sunday evening, only guests! Not clear how to get into the resting, we went to tbe back and through hotel rooms. Staff service good. Roast dinner large portion, could have being a bit hotter.Disappointed with Yorkshire pudding was a bit dry, nice portion of beef. Nice cocktail !
Had a very nice meal here though the burger was only lukewarm. All very tasty though. So much so that I forgot to take photos until halfway through the starters
Went for a special lunch deal. 8 of us. Had to book in advance. Meal and unlimited drinks. Table service only. To be fair, the girls worked their butts off keeping everyone topped up. And the food was gorgeous. As ever. Very, very impressed. Well worth the money. Had a fantastic time! Food & drinks: Good food and great cocktails.!
Wow what a fabulous place, my friends organised a leaving party for me, what a fantastic night food and staff absolutely brilliant and at a reasonable price too!! As i have to be Gluten Free i can honestly say it was the best meal i have had in a long time. Well done to all the team. Highly recommended.
Amazing value for money. The staff were fantastic - friendly, super helpful and always with a smile. The room was perfect for the nights stay - comfy bed, lovely shower and plenty hidden storage areas. I also had the full English breakfast which was awesome and recommended. I've only put 4 stars for location for the only reason of parking - there is no hotel parking but there is free parking near the hotel between 6pm and 8am. It wasn't an issue for me as I arrived after 6 and managed to find a space but worth noting. Otherwise the location is amazing as it really is bang in the centre of town. Finally, I would say this was one of the best value for money hotels in the area and I would 100% use the hotel again.
Dirty salt & pepper pots dirty had cranberry sauce and hairs on them. Very long wait for food. Arrive at 19.10, My wife got her main at 20.10 so over a hour, for pre ordered food. Will never go again.
