We’ve had food from here before but after last night we won’t be going again. I went in and ordered fish and chips for 2 but when I got them home I had to go straight back with them as they were so bad. The fish was over cooked, dark batter and dry inside and the chips were limp and looked like they had been hanging around since yesterday. The usual guys weren’t frying. I took them back and after a bit of talk they agreed to replace them. Off home again only to open up the box and they were worse than the first lot! My partner and I went back for the third time and the women frying were arguing that the potatoes were ‘new soft potatoes’! I wonder if the fish and chips has been partially cooked? You can’t see how they’re frying them. I’ve never heard anything like it! Anyway after some time they gave us our money back and at £20 it’s not cheap. We then went to Whittakers in Cheadle Hulme where the food was freshly cooked and tasty. Also far cheaper than Fosters. I’d recommend you go and try there. Very disappointed with Fosters.
Top notch haddock and chips, batter was still crispy after the journey home!!Food: 5/5
If you want good old fashioned fish and chips then go here! It's not the cheapest but quality counts. If the staff aren't serving they're cleaning. All fish cooked fresh to order.Food: 5/5
We’ve been here a few times. I don’t understand this mixed reviews. Really good chippy!Food: 5/5
AVOID ! 3.9 score is totally ridiculous, they are more a 1/5 Greasy oily Fish and chips, over cooked like 3 day old food! Disgusting and inedible, they should be ashamed especially at their prices. Go to Whitakers if you are local to heald green or bramhall it's way way better quality
Had a meal tonight and it was terrible the chips didn't seem fresh they were hard and tasteless, the fish wasn't really up to scratch, and my overall experience was awful and one of the worst chippy I've had in my life. Over priced and disappointing Would avoid. Whitikers in cheadle hulme is 10x better
It's a really nice place. The people are always friendly and the food is tasty. I wad slightly puzzled when I went in recently to order a fish barm only to be told that they didn't do fish barms but 'I can give you a fish and a barm if you like', but I'm willing to excuse that Food: 5/5
Considering the amount of completion in the area. Service without a SMILE, the guy cooking the fish grumpy as they come. Portion size not good. Taste really poor. Will never return.Food: 2/5
Service good, young lady serving with older lady frying. Various sizes of fish priced accordingly. I chose medium size. Small portion of chips was asked for but Larger portion than I thought I was getting. Unfortunately the fish was too 'battered' i.e. over cooked for me and running with oil the chips were also too oily for my palette. Almost £10.00. I will not be back.
The sizes of fish and portions of chips suit those with larger stomach capacity. At a quiet time there was no ready-cooked fish. As a result, service was slow but the food when ir came was fresh.
