A lovely place to visit especially in a warm sunny day, beautiful lake with lots of ducks and birds, relaxing charming garden, cafe, playground in the wood... even a small farm with tractors and well kept animals. Child friendly.

Lovely gardens and a nice open farm for the kids to enjoy the animals. Cafe very overpriced. Great place for a picnic or a dog walk. Good parking facilities.

Wonderful way to treasure heritage and community. A great day out whether it's to have a wander around the gorgeously restored and maintained house and gardens, or to thoroughly enjoy some of the events, workshops and special days. Check it out for corporate events, weddings, and other celebrations too.

An unexpected and lovely place to visit. The cafe looks charmingly retro and is a pleasant place to sit. However, the service seems to vary from friendly (albeit rather slow) to downright rude, as we experienced this recent Half Term. Not sure if this lady is the manager or not but her attitude certainly won't attract custom, not mine that's for sure. Star rating based on overall impression of the entire place rather than just the cafe, otherwise it would be less.

This is an ideal place to visit whatever the occasion and whoever you are with. There are romantic areas and events, spooky ones and child friendly ones to list just three. There is culture, nature and history. Visit the organic farm shop and buy farm produce fresher and tastier than you ever find in a supermarket. The farm itself is open from the lambing open weekend in spring through to late autumn.
