We always enjoy a formby hall break. Usually just us two followed with spa treatments however this weekend we took the kids along. 2 yo and 12 yo. All staff are extremely helpful and lovely. And it’s nothing too much with the kids. We just spent Halloween weekend here our room was lovely and the Halloween party was amazing for the kids. The party was followed by a carvery with background music and was nice. Our stay included evening meal however the restaurant was fully booked, staff were more than helpful in trying to sort this but we opted for room service instead from the lounge and patio menu as we were happy with picky bits due to us having young children and a carvery earlier on. Throughout the two days there our kids were able to use the pool, they loved it. The reception staff are always happy to help n service with a smile. Restaurant staff always nice. Breakfast staff not so helpful or smiley. But doesn’t effect the stay we will be coming again with the kids for the New Year’s party. Would recommend.
we came for a birthday spa overnight stay really enjoyed our visit. Check in was 3pm and we booked our treatments which was a head neck and shoulder massage for 4.35pm.The staff were friendly and the treatments were amazing. Because the spa was shutting at 5pm we were able to use the rest of the spa facilities the next morning which was nice, there was a sauna steam room showers and a tranquility room . We also went down to use the other facilities after our treatment which was the gym the indoor pool the sauna hot tub and steam room. Dinner was lovely which we had from the al carte menu and the breakfast was nice too. We stayed in a loft room which had a big shower and a big bath with a telly. The rooms Were very spacious . Reception were helpful to as we had a bottle of prosecco in our mini fridge and we did not want it as we don't really drink so the reception wrote us a voucher out to get some drink from the bar we opted for some non alcoholic mojitos . This was the second time we have come and will come again.
Rooms sizeable, lighting a little dark for my taste. Good shower and comfortable beds. Golf course very enjoyable, lots of water! Wildlife fabulous! Not too far to local attractions. Enjoyed visiting Crosby beach.
Me and my mum stayed for a one night spa break back in February for a birthday treat. On arrival the hotel looks lovely , however once past the lobby everything becomes dated and tired. The room was clean which was the only positive. In the spa the jacuzzi was broken as well as one of the thermal rooms, other areas of the spa steam/ sauna felt grubby and in need of an update. Breakfast was ok and the highlight of the stay was the lovely serving staff at breakfast. Overall we found Formby Hall incredibly disappointing, it was nowhere near the level of other spa hotels we have visited at similar prices.
Go for a spa 2 years later, and things are still broken, but they don't give a dam. It's getting really shabby now. Robe's to fit a child, coffee machine not working, burnt in rasule room, ice makers on both floors, not working, Internet down, draws falling off in dining room, staff continue to drop heavy draw, time after time, no communication. Jacuzzi only works every 20 mins or so. Parking was shocking!! The chef was fantastic and afternoon tea, very creative. It just felt like a cafe, though, and not a decadent treat, I've saved up for! Very, very disappointed and won't be wasting money there again. Regular members confirmed how long the Jacuzzi hasn't worked properly for. No costume bags, half the lockers need their batteries changing! You have great staff though, who try and keep it all together for you, but I don't think it will last much longer. I was shocked.
Booked a spa day for myself and my husband. Was safe to say we were the only Asians that were there. Didn’t feel very welcoming. I mean service with a smile cannot do anyone any harm. Felt awkward. Massage was ok. Was meant to feel relaxed I just like it was someone rubbing oil on me which I could have done myself. Booked afternoon tea too- not much effort put into it. More options for vegetarians should be provided. Wouldn’t come back to this area again.
Booked spa day and afternoon tea for 2 daughters and myself. After being left waiting in the reception area for a while we were given forms to fill in which we could have done whilst sitting twiddling out thumbs. Once sorted we where taken into the message room, this was the best bit and we really enjoyed this part. The girls doing it where lovely and professional at all times. We then entered the pool area. There was an aerobics class on for 30 mins so wasn't able to have a good swim. We sat in the hot tub which was off for 15 mins with no bubbles. The button is just there for show and actually comes out of the floor. There was broken tiles on the hot tub and where we was sitting we could see lots of insects crawling over an area by the pool. We got dressed after this and went for the afternoon tea. This was nice. Nice small mixed sandwiches and small assorted cakes complete with as many coffees/tea as you wanted. I was not impressed and would not recommend as this place needs updating, there are better places for the price.
I called today Fri 39th August at 15.30 to meet a lady working at reception on the spa. She had no interest in giving me advice regarding memberships and the phone line abruptly cut out. Very strange, Safe to say customer service is not on their priority list.Rooms: 1/5
Paid in advance for a spa and afternoon tea. Was assured if any member couldn't make it we could cancel and have a refund. We had to cancel one place and did this a few days after making full payment. Rang up and stated no problem we will get a refund sorted. Weeks gone by since the spa treatment but still no refund of the cancelled place for £99 Absolutely no response from 3 emails and phone calls don't get answered. Disgusting customer care, and will be taking further action in order to receive the refund. Do not book anything here it is terrible.
I've been a member of the health club for 2 years the staff do everything they can but there is poor management and no investment in the infrastructure. Everything is deteriorating, from leaking windows to broken and poorly maintained equipment. The management also don't seem to understand how to treat members to foster loyalty !! I'm recently bereaved - I asked if I could add my son to my membership for a month whilst he was staying with me temporarily, answer NO. I received a VIP spa day for my birthday and I asked if I could transfer the cost to a basic voucher to spend in the spa - I don't exactly feel like a cream tea and drinking prosecco right now but i could certainly benefit from a 2nd massage - answer NO. No flexibility, no empathy, no care for members. Good job there are such excellent yoga and pilates teachers because it's the only thing that keeps me as a paid member. Food in restaurant and bar is not great value for money and the choice for gluten free is limited .... All in all it's not worth the detour which is a great shame because with the right management the place could be amazing.
