Access to the beach through sand dunes, about 10 minutes from the road. The beach is very wide if you get the low tide. A beautiful place for a trip with the family, you can take good pictures especially at sunset.Visited onWeekend
Nice sunny beach. No food or amenities though. Car park charge 8.5 from dawn to dusk. Toilets close at 4.30 pm. The walk from the car park to the beach is soft sand. Good if you bring your own foods and drink.
What a lovely place. One of the best beaches in the world. Stunning peace of nature, clean, wide. Not crowded at all. Absolutely worth a visit.Visited onWeekday
It's a nice place to visit, there were low tides when I visited so had to walk quite the distance to get to the water. Beautiful view from the dunes. You have to bring all your entertainment ,plenty to do sports, dance as there's no shop on its ground to the best of my knowledge, plenty of parking space but the meter doesn't have a tap to pay function, so you either use coins to pay or walk to a van where you can pay with your card or become a member so you can support the good conservation team Lovely place would definitely visit again
It is a nice beach to go to with clear water and a nice little forest area, the only downside is it is very sandy and toilets are abit far away and you can only pay by cash as there is zero reception at car park.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Formby Beach was an absolute blast for our family! The sun always seems to shine brighter there, making it the perfect spot for a beach day. The vibrant atmosphere, with kids building sandcastles and families enjoying picnics, made it a truly unforgettable experience. We can't wait to go back!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Loved it here. Plenty of parking, I think it was £8.50 for all day or free if your a member of the national Trust. You do have to do a bit of climbing over sand dunes to get onto the actual beach, there may be an easier route but we didn't see one. The beach is pretty clean. There is an area with lifeguards where you are allowed to swim. It wasn't too busy but there were quite a few people there with their dogs and they seemed to be loving it running about.
Formby is a coastal nature haven for both wildlife and people. You'll discover some of Europe's most important and protected sand dune habitats, where many rare species thrive including sand lizards and natterjack toads. You can also catch glimpses of the past, from prehistoric footprints to old shipwrecks.
Lovely clean beach with soft golden sand. Car park is almost 10 pounds for the day but worth it, takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach from the car park and its not wheelchair or pram accessible. Portaloos on site of the car park. Lifeguards on duty and they occasionally patrol the beach. One of my favourite beaches. Dog friendly also. View is lovely.
It was very fun, I went on a school trip, with my friends at my school and it was awesome! I made a lot of memories with my friends and I for sure will go back one day with friends to relive the moment. However, it was a very windy day and sand kept going in my eyes, it hurt a lot but oh well I got a lot of memories with friends that I'll cherish forever. As well, the toilets were far away which was super tiring, to get to, I feel like they should be closer. However, I think this was a fun experience even as a whole school. For sure loved it & I'm super tired!
