Although I love the food here and the staff are always friendly. I came today for a birthday lunch with family. The lunch was great then we decided to get a cake. Although they looks good maybe the could be covered to stop flies from enjoying a free cake. A big blue bottle fly was pretty disgusting. This really put me off. Shame
After looking around the whole centre, we decided to have a meal at the restaurant. I was told that it was going to be at most a 25 minutes wait for our food. At first, I was apprehensive, but then I decided to wait. I ordered a pannini. There was obviously a backlog of orders as the restaurant was exceptionally crowded. There were so many things from which to choose. The man with whom I placed my ordered told me straight away how long my order would take. A very rude woman barked at the man and stated that she had been waiting for half an hour. There was no need for her to be so mean. The place was very busy and the members of staff looked as if they were doing everything that they could to please everybody. When it arrived, I did even have to wait for 25 minutes. My food was served with a lovely salad and it was prepared nicely. We attended this place again recently and it was evident that the members of staff had worked hard to put up Christmas decorations.
Don’t expect anything hot or savoury from the Cafe after 3pm. Turned up and all the hot food counters were empty and all cleaned up ready for the next day. The sign said the cafe is open til 5pm so why was everything cleaned up. Only cakes and pastries on offer.
This garden centre has been a favourite of our family for many years. It’s stocked with everything you can think of it’s very very big. Has a wide variety of plants and trees for sale, has many other items for sale such as gas and coal ovens, kitchen equipment and garden accessories of all kinds including indoor and outdoor tables and benches. Even has a section for kids toys and games and clothing, it’s more like a little shopping Centre than an actual Garden centre as they also have a section on gift cards. Also has a decent cafe where you can rest after doing all your shopping or if you fancy some lunch you can have some home cooked food. The facilities here are great and the parking space is immense, you have so much space to park cars I think it very rarely fills up. The other bonus is that you have Birdworld next to it. I found the place to be super clean also and the staff very friendly. Excellent !
Nice surroundings, lovely atmosphere. The food selection is not too wide, but adequate. I've found the portion control a bit too strict, and the taste of the food was a bit too bland for my palate. The customer service was kind and courteous, and they were promptly cleaning up and disinfected the tables after the guests.
Costa Coffee is served here. Visited while it was still the breakfast menu. Must say, out of all garden centres, these guys do a good job with their food. The bacon, although unsmoked I prefer smoked was thick cut and cooked well. The hash browns were crispy on the outside just how I like them. The sausages were amazing, although could not think at the time, which flavour they were. Fried eggs were great, as were the beans. Great place to visit as a garden centre.
We had a great family breakfast here, it was our daughter's birthday, the food was perfect and the service in the restaurant was exceptional. As a bonus we came away with some fantastic plants for our garden.
An excellent garden centre - well worth a visit. There is a huge variety of plants on sale - some that we had not seen before. Very relaxing coffee shop at “the back” makes for a relaxing shopping experience.
Really unfriendly, rude staff - my wife & MIL were spoken to quite aggressively by a woman when our little dog did a wee OUTSIDE which they later washed away themselves with a hose. The staff member claimed they were the only dog friendly ! garden centre and, without authority, told them they were banned forever. They also blamed them for someone else's dog mess and had obviously ignored some spotted INSIDE. The manager confirmed they had no authority to do ban anyone and did apologise, but they were both quite upset by the very rude way they were spoken to. They left and went immediately to another dog friendly garden centre where they spent a considerable amount of money.
Great place for kids and Bird lovers. There are two great play parks, the farm isn't huge but big enough for children which also has a play park in the middle which is restricted to how many children are allowed to play at a time due to covid guidelines. Also there are sanitisers all over the park.
