Not a bad service now it's actually working, can be a bit slow as they seem to have limited staff loading staff loading are also driving it, but it's a convenient way to get across so long as you don't just miss it otherwise you'll be waiting a while. Just be careful driving on if your car is a low rider. Also, under 19s are free as foot passengers which is great.
it doesn't always have a reliable service, however, the convenience is a great advantage. We like walking around East Cowes, the Floating Bridge is a quick way to get their from Thorness, and the staff are always obliging.

Inexpensive trip! Just a little bit slow loading and unloading. Interesting watching the cars going on and off though, few close shaves with the vehicle undercarriage and the ramp, kept us occupied.nStaff friendly and enjoyed the experience though.
Really cool chain pulled barge, if your using your car ve very careful embarking and disembarking as the ramp is very steep
