We've never been here before and must say that it was great to such a historic building so well cared for. The views over the River Dee to the Wirral were fabulous. Within 1min walking distance and visible from the castle, we discovered a unique war memorial, in which a wooden soldier reads a letter from a mother and father sent to them during the First World War.
Free parking and a lovely walk around the ruins of the castle which is also free to visit. Good to spend about an hour here walking around the castle and along the seafront. The weather was good today, which always makes a visit here much more pleasant. One of the towers is now open and you can go up quite far. Yes, all-in-all a decent, enjoyable visit. We linked this visit with the Lime Kilns nearby and made it a very cheap, enjoyable day.

Beautiful ruins with a very interesting history. Lovely views from the top with a short climb, completely free! Clean and a lovely spot near the water.
Fabulous place to walk at Flint castle as there is a public walking path all around the estury.nBeautiful and poinuent figures dotted around the area attached to benches where you can rest a while.nStunning Views.
