A real gem of a find. Really great interpretation in every room, as well as informative, friendly and helpful guides. Trails and quizzes for children too. Felt very welcomed; a lovely afternoon spent.
Well worth a visit to the towns only museum, fascinating stories and history about the towns people and working industries. Don't forget to visit the old trawler in the building out the back, finally the staff are dedicated with a passion for towns history and are more than happy to share their knowledge. We'll worth a visit.
We found the museum by chance. It was absolutely a great experience and we give great credit to the community for developing it themselves, we believe, without government assistance. Former fishermen gave us personally guided tours of the museum. They deserve all credit for this really enjoyable experience.
We had a wonderful time at this museum. The staff had a wealth of knowledge and were incredibly passionate about Fleetwood's history. Museum including the cafe was well run and immaculately clean. Would highly recommend.
A super museum... a credit to everyone that runs it. Excellent exhibits. Varied, interesting and informative. Very clean well cared for surroundings. Lots of volunteers on hand to explain the exhibits. A cafe and shop. All in all, well worth a visit. Highly recommended!
Great museum and such fascinating history. You will learn about how the town was designed and created, the fishing industry, the ferrys to Scotland, the railways, Fishermans friends, Salt mines, a section on the war, great Women of Fleetwood and more, including a fantastic Victorian boat on display. This is backed by extremely knowledgeable museum guides that are there to answer any questions and more than happy to talk about the history of this very historic town. The admission fee of only £3 for adults is extremely reasonable for a museum that is over many floors. Thoroughly recommend a visit!
Exhibits of photographs, models and information boards provide a wonderful representation of the history of the Fleetwood fishing industry. The volunteer staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. This has to be one of the best small museums in the country.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Really interesting museum. Visited Fleetwood specifically for the museum and was not disappointed. Excellent volunteers running it. Pity Lancashire County council have closed so many of their museums. Less reason to visit the area now.
Brilliant place being kept alive by the hard work and dedication of mainly volunteers. Well worth the visit to learn about the huge history behind the place. Kids go free and there's a little cafe selling great coffee too. It's good to support places like this as imagine they could go derelict without people supporting by visiting and spending some money there. The staff were incredibly friendly and informative. On a side note you can tie it in with a visit to the beach and a ferry trip to Knott end.
