I've been in Flash Harry's many times. It's a great place to stop for food and a pint or cocktail. The last time I went I got a burger and I enjoyed it a lot. If it's sunny or at least warm enough, you can seat outside in the beer garden where there's a pool table. There's a woman that takes orders at lunch. I never asked her name but she was great. Very friendly, she can give you recommendations on what to order and she loves chatting. Thank you for the great service!
If you are looking for a place to go with a few friends for drinks/cocktails and some light food, then I think this is a good choice. Located in the heart of Blackrock, it is very accessible by public transport which is great! The cocktails are on the more expensive side 12 euro upwards but I thought the food was pretty reasonably priced. We booked a table for a Saturday night at 7:30pm and the place was very busy. A little bit of as younger crowd than we imagined, but it didn't hinder our experience. Service was a little mixed if we are being honest - When we entered there was a staff by the door who was not overly friendly. She pointed to our seat in the corner and we were handed menus. Other staff members were friendly, but difficult to get hold of. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience with very tasty cocktails.
Cocktails good. Food good and reasonable prices. However, table service was hit and miss, tables were slowly cleared, some servers were friendly and a couple bordered on rude. Music a little louder may add to the atmosphere. Very young crowd. Would I go back? Probably not
Went in with my husband and son for some food . I must say staff and manager are lovely and so kind. My 10 year old son came and he has additional needs and sensory issues the female manager couldn't do more to assist us we ended up my son wanted to move table half way through our dinner and the manager moved us no problem with no fuss. We had a great time and my son even said he loves it there its the little things in life that people do to help make the simplest things like going out for a meal that bit more easier. Thank you do much to the staff and manager we will be back again
Food was good service was terrible. Location was cute and central The service fee was ridiculous
We were intrigued by your beautiful interior and decided to go in for food and drinks and left disgusted and disappointed. When we walked in, the lady working did not acknowledge or welcome us, my friend had to ask if we could seat anywhere. She answered in a cold and nonchalant manner she didn't even have the manners of handing her menus. We had to get our own menu's. We sat down for 20mins to watch your member of staff, serve other people and welcome those who came in the door after us. She ignored us, avoided eye contact and walked past our table on several occasions. I have never experienced such appalling customer service in my life. On leaving I considered if this poor treatment was based on us being the only people of colour in your establishment at that moment, but on reading the other reviews it's simply your poor training and hiring of staff, or simply the establishment as a whole.
Flash Harry's is the quintessential contemporary Blackrock spot for quick bites and great nights. Attending at short notice for a night about town, we were greeted by a host of bright and bubbly staff, who quickly seated us and attended to our every need. Food and drink orders were taken promptly, and service followed in the same vein. Crisp chicken tenders, saucy, spicy wings and gourmet onion rings were presented to and devoured by our party, and washed down with a suitably wide selection of draught pints and handcrafted cocktails. The resident mixologists, Scott, James and Hugh, ensured that we lacked for no good thing in the form of unique and delicious concoctions to imbibe; cutting tall, dark and handsome figures behind the bar not to mention built!, they consistently produced stellar cocktail creations over the course of the evening, both from the menu and to-order. While one can only assume that such talent will soon be poached by an artisanal, bespoke purveyor of libations, I would urge anyone and everyone to drop in while such talent is still on display at Flash Harry's. Any manager worth their salt would double their salary to keep them on!
Cannot stress this enough but the bar manager/staff here are very racist. My friends and I went to get a few drinks, we were not greeted when we came in, neither were we acknowledged when our food was served. I wouldn’t normally take this seriously, but every other non-coloured customer was treated with a lot of warmth. This was utterly disappointing and disrespectful. Later on she even got into a verbal fight for no apparent reason at all. Cannot believe this is still happening in 2023. Won’t be going back here anymore!
Friendly service, great outside area with a good quality TV. Chicken wings and beef chiily fries were good, wasn't mad on the scampi. Good pint of guinness
EDIT: Changing 4 stars to 2 unfortunately because the food seems to have gotten worse and the service is still as terrible as ever. I’d now say to skip this place, but hopefully it will turn itself around because I still think it has a lot of potential. I’ve been a few times and have always been very happy with the food and the drinks. The service definitely leaves quite a bit to be desired. Not the most attentive staff. Overall a good place though, I’d say one of the best in the blackrock area.
