Be Warned that this company is in liquidation. Deceitful behaviour and abhorrent treatment of an elderly and sick customer.  While going through the process of liquidation or at the very least aware of the dire nature of the situation, Flaming Fires Whangarei continued to make promises they could obviously not keep and take on new customers without any word that the company was in difficulty which they must have known at the time.  They also required payment in full and then pushed the date of installation our consistently by several months with correspondence only 3 weeks prior to liquidation saying that they were just "experiencing delays" and the job was still open. They have been impossible to get hold of.  Thousands of dollars now unable to be recovered and a vulnerable customer left facing debt to find an alternative option just as winter arrives.

Ordered and paid for 2 fireplaces in September but they had still not arrived in late December. When I called up they had no idea where the fireplaces were. Terrible organisation and communication throughout. Between the builders and me and my husband we must have called up about 10 times. We asked for our money back in the end as no one could give us an answer of where they were and when they would arrive, and the next day they call up to say they have been received. I do not mind delays but I just need to be reassured and communicated with and this was lacking.

Terrible company and so hard to deal with. Don't care about your business once they have your money. Would not reccomend to anyone!

Appalling service & communication. Have had the misfortune to have to deal with this company twice since it opened. Neither experience left me with a product or a result.

Its a shame they don't have a negative star.  Bought a house a few years ago and asked for a quote for repairing the fireplace.  After a number of emails, a number of phone calls and a number of times going into the shop with no action, i gave up...  fast forward 6 months i thought i would give them another try as they had a bbq for sale at a good price.  When a part on the bbq failed i went in to get a replacement and paid for the part which was coming from the supplier.  After 6 months of asking for updates, i gave up and ordered the part direct from the supplier.  Arrived within a couple of days.  Still had to chase them for my money back.  One of the ladies in the office was bordering on rude whenever i spoke to her. not Sue Not a company i would recommend.

Great team who do the actual work, but useless office staff who cant even take a booking. Have been loyal customers for years, but going elsewhere from now. If it wasn't for the great guys that do the work, we would have gone elsewhere years ago. The admin need to lift their game, absolutely hopeless and rude.

Poor response time. A week after I submitted an online query I got an automated email / job confirmation on 18 April 2023  telling me someone would be in touch to book time/date. Over a month later on 24 May 2023 I get a lengthy automated email / booking update telling me they’re extremely busy with over 600 jobs and our job will be completed within the following month. By the time I got this email we had long before already found another company who had done the job the week after I enquired. When I replied to this second email and said I was disappointed with the service I got a reply from an actual person who just said “ thanks for update no worries have a nice day.” No apology for terrible service or lack of communication. Clearly they have so much business that losing one residential customer doesn’t mean much to them. I personally would never try to use this company in future.

Wow, went in to try get a quote, DO NOT USE THE WORDS "I think", was told they can't do anything with that and they don't want to deal with refunds, worst customer service I have ever experienced, the woman I dealt with was rude and stared at me like she had better things to do, will not give this company my custom.

I would like to start off with, I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone who needs fireplace maintenance or sweeping done. The two men who do the actual check and maintenance work are amazing, but the service from the office is terrible. After at least six voice messages that we left over the time we dealt with flaming fires, they have never been returned to me or my partner. We were messed around for three months which is absolutely appalling. We have found someone else who can actually get the job done for us. It was sorted within literally one week, which is amazing considering how little flaming fires could do within three months. They don’t follow up and get back to you AT ALL when they say they will. Just straight unreliable and unprofessional. Will never go back to using them. Useless.

Should be Flaming Farts Terrible service. Asked for a quote and they came when I was not home despite their massive policy stating they will charge you if you are not there. They let themselves in uninvited. Never got a quote despite phone calls and email. They have never answered the phone on the several times I rang them. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
