Went to the shopping centre mid afternoon, car park reasonably priced, and easy access to the high street from Five Valleys car park. The shopping centre itself is well maintained and the shops keep to a high standard of meeting customer needs.
It's still on its way to being finished and fully leased but what is there already is great. I love that it is dog friendly, even inside the shops which is a real bonus. There are dog bowls for water everywhere and all the shopkeepers are lovely and friendly. There wasn't much open in the food market when I went but what was open smelled AMAZING. I will definitely drop in next time I'm in the area to try out some of the tasty looking delights.
I visited this shopping centre for the first time in about five years, and wow, it is such a contrast with the depressing place it used to be! Completely revamped, most of the old shops gone, and some really great eateries in their place. Various types of cuisine ranging from Thai to crepes, based in small open fronted serveries along with a communal seating area where you can eat your chosen meal. A cheese themed deli alongside a butchers shop, a couple of gift outlets, and a green grocery, all add to the buzz of the place. It was very worthwhile a visit, and looking forward to going again soon.
9th November 2021......We went to FALAFEL MAMA at Five Valleys shopping Centre, situated in the food hall, which has a vast amount of different types of eating places to suit everyone's taste! They do different sizes of pitta breads and fill it with warm falafels and salad, consisting of shredded red & white cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, ect with delicious sauces! They also do a generous helping of chips if you are very hungry!! Very suitable for Vegans like us!! They also have a pie eating place next to it who also offer vegan pies, consisting of wild mushrooms ect. Unfortunately we don't like wild mushrooms so personally gave it a miss !! We did however buy a tea and coffee from them! There is by the way, a reasonable amount of seating in the food hall.
Lovely place to browse and lots of interesting independent shops. Nice street cafes to enjoy everything Stroud can offer.
Parking fines issued regularly and its very difficult to appeal. I have NEVER gone over my time as I'm aware how big the fines are but I had a ticket issued. I have no way of proving they are wrong. £60 paid. I will not be parking here again. Also disabled access and facilities are poor. My partner has a disability and we're less than impressed.
Don't trust the lift if going from the bus station literally spends half the year out of service, and its a bit of a pain for elderly or disabled to walk up and around One star removed for that! Once there, however, an excellent choice of independent traders covering all sorts of crafts, cakes, hot food, wines and breads
Great shopping short walk from car park into centre . Short hop into town centre. Excellent food court pasta store on corner excellent. Town centre/market shopping the was it used to be a delight will return
The Saturday farmers market is superb. Lots of stalls and good for sale. The shopping centre has some really cool places to buy street food that is cooked while you wait. All different ones like Thai, Japanese, Korean, Vegan. It's definitely somewhere I will be visiting again in the very near future. So yesterday I went again to Stroud. The farmers market was fantastic and the stalls selling food was amazing. Its a must go too.
An inspired transformation of what was a tired shopping centre. Great coffee shop, food hall and market area with artisan bread, fresh fish, a deli, sushi, patisserie and more.
