I have just paid £5.74 for a battered sausage and this tiny portion of chips and I'm still hungry. The chips were mushy and the batter on the sausage was soft and chewy, when squeezed grease dripped out of the sausage, it tasted OK but I have never paid more than & 4.60 anywhere else in Hertfordshire. I'm feeling totally ripped off and wishing I had read the reviews first.
Been going here for years and recently noticed things going down. Ordered 2 large portions of chips today and received this, just about enough for 2 people bit of a joke for 8 quid.
Great chips. But £2.99 for this miniscule portion shocking! So many staff behind the till. If you had less wages to pay, you'd be able to give a few more chips for the money. What happened to filling the cardboard tray, wrapping it in paper and chucking a few more on top! They're only potatoes after all!
It was nice and fresh, semolina batter nice , but the skin wasn’t taken off the fish and the curry sauce ain’t right. It’s tangy and a reddish brown. Should be a yellow curry.
This place used to offer the best fish and chips around but our recent visit was a disappointment. Miserly portions and not great value for money really. Lots of staff, quite chaotic and will not be returning. No queue on a Saturday evening should have reminded me that this takeaway is no longer what it was.

It's an excellent chippie with long opening hours for those that can't take a lunch at normal times Fish and chips here is excellent, half a spitroast chicken is also a very good and great value option. On side note the ribs here use to be generous and decent price but over the years they seem to have increased in price and shrunk in size? Anyway it's a very good place, staff seem to be a changing group of school age youngsters serving and they are always polite and enthusiastic as well, so really well done.
Wow over £15 for fish, chips and peas. Chips looked frozen fries not chip shop chips.Food: 3/5
Don't rate it at all. Roast chicken has always been really dry every time i have had it- they must sit around in the cabinets for a long time! A lot of the food is hit and miss, ribs can either be tender and very nice or completely dry, tough and not much sauce on them, the fish can be nice but again on several occasions the batter has been soggy. The chips are probably the best thing however they too can also be soggy or you end up with the last scrapings from the chip pan- not very nice. On the plus, the staff are always very friendly, polite and helpful but overall i think you can get fish and chips better elsewhere
