Great fish at lunchtime, good quality too. At lunchtimes this place has never let me down. I’ve been going to it for years, though you should be weary that the food quality isn’t very good in the evenings and take cash as they don’t do card.
Chips were inedible and tasted like they’d been reheated so most of them went in the bin. Fish was mediocre.
Great fish and no bones. I have enjoyed fish on Friday evenings since it opened in Shenfield. Superb standard!
A bit disappointed if I'm honest. Decor and service were completely fine, so can't fault that, but some not all of the food was cold when I got it home. Also the chips were not proper fish and chip shop chips... they were crispy... not at all what i was hoping for. I would only go again out of convenience, not out of choice.
Called in for a quick bag of chips whilst I waited for my train, service was in complete disarray, with five staff behind the fish bar but no apparent service. Lots of people waiting having placed orders, but the staff didn't seem capable. Several people were questioning their bills and no-one was leaving with any food. I walked out after ten minutes, and sadly won't be returning soon.
My dad is 95 and housebound. He really misses going out to dinner and having cod and chips. One of the highlights of his week is having fish and chips for Saturday lunch. This is his favourite provider.
Not the best. Dry chips, rubbery batter on the fish and tinned mushy peas. Rang our order through to collect at a certain time, order not ready, not even started. Won't be using them again.
Wife popped in around 4pm in the afternoon. Ordered £27 worth of fish chips, onion rings , chicken wraps and curry sauce and beef and onion pie. Onions rings were slightly over cooked with a sliver of onion inside. Chips were mixed with old cooked cold chips. Wife complained before about The chips. I rang up to complain about my order and was taken by a youngster who hadn't a clue about customer service . All he said was that he was sorry. Recommend NOT to buy from there. BE WARNED !
Horrible place, dirty tables, wifi not working. Cash only. Fish and chips were practically inedible.
