"Founded in 2000 by experienced funeral directors Bert Firmager and Michael Owen, Firmager Funeral Service quickly became established due to their professionalism and strong local and community links. When Bert and Michael passed away, Michael’s wife Wendy took over in 2009.Our team will provide advice at every stage of the funeral planning process, and will arrange an individual and unique funeral to help you celebrate the life of your loved one. We also offer Choice Funeral Plans which enable you to record your personal wishes and pay towards your funeral in advance, which could provide peace of mind to you and your family."

Helen was wonderful in helping us plan our mum’s funeral. We requested a purple coffin as it was mum’s favourite colour and it looked amazing on the day. Mum’s funeral went smoothly and Firmager Funeral Directors made a very difficult day easier to deal with. The men involved were extremely polite and courteous and made us feel that whatever we required they would provide. I want to thank them so much and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is facing such a sad event.
The service we received from Firmagers was so very caring, empathetic and made a horrible situation easier to deal with. Both Helen and the Funeral Director who took care of mum on the day were both wonderful, thank you so much for this. I can highly recommend Firmagers’ services, they will go above and beyond in every aspect. We went to the chapel a number of times and they made my mum look so peaceful, again thank you for this.
Our grateful thanks for the great help your company gave us. Due to a major 'hic-up', your staff were able to delay the service for some considerable time to enable the wife of deceased to attend the last of the Service. A truly understanding company.
Our beloved father passed away in December and mum wanted Firmagers to deal with the arrangements, she had heard that they were good at what they do. Mum wasn't wrong ,from the first phone call until we collected the ashes Firmagers were excellent! Unfortunately mum passed 55 days after dad and we had no hesitation at all who we would ask to arrange her funeral. Helen is the nicest, patient and caring person. Ashley phoned a day before the funeral to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted and that he could make sure it would be so. Never once did I feel overwhelmed by paperwork or having to arrange the funeral, they made everything effortless which is what you need at that particular time of your life. Thank you Helen, Ashley and team.
A huge thank you to Helen Stuart, and the Team. My husband died unexpectedly and from the moment l telephoned Firmagers, l received, an outstanding and excellent service. Helen went over and beyond, sorting little things out for me, to ensure everything was perfect for Clive. On the day, Stuart and the Team were fabulous, so caring and understanding. I would recommend Firmagers for your loved ones, it such a difficult time for you but Firmagers help and guide you all the way and nothing is too much trouble. A big thank you to everyone that works here. The staff goes that extra mile and makes you feel that your loved one's last journey is the best you can give them and you can gain comfort in this.
My mother had already arranged for Firmagers to take care of her funeral after our experience with them for my fathers funeral. Despite having to arrange the funeral from Hampshire I was given excellent support from Helen who was sympathetic, helpful and always quick to respond if I had a question. On the day of funeral Ashley was tremendous assisting us in a friendly and dignified manner. Between them they made a pretty awful time so much more bearable. Lovely people and outstanding service much as my mother had anticipated.
Firmager had been chosen in advance by my mother to arrange her funeral. It was good to meet Helen and hear how she had visited mum at home 2/3 years before to make the basic plan. Helen was very kind and efficient and looked after me well to set up the detail. On the day, Ashley and his team were punctual and saw us through the service respectfully, helpfully and with due regard to the Covid guidelines.
We laid our dear father to rest two days ago. The service we received from Firmager was simply superlative, and could not be faulted. What could have been an overwhelming experience for us was turned into a celebration with their support, warmth, courtesy and kindness They were punctual; immaculately dressed; caring towards my frail mother and siblings; looking after every little detail so that the day went seamlessly. Above all their quiet dignity shone through: remaining silent in the limousine while we were left to reflect, always available but never intrusive, and being there to guide us when needed. I cannot recommend them highly enough. When I shuffle off, I would be very happy to have Firmager take care of me. Now, there's an endorsement. Thank you Helen, Ashley and your very professional team. You truly helped to make it a real celebration.
On behalf of our family and friends I wanted to thank you all for arranging my Mum's funeral service. A difficult occasion was helped greatly by the professionalism of Ashley and his team on the day. And thanks especially to Helen for gently taking me through the process of making all the arrangements beforehand. Your help was invaluable.
