The garden is amazing, but there is also large woodland. The best time to visit the garden should be summer, with wisteria blooming. Fungi is the season special, you will find different variety on the ground. Mostly can be found under big trees. The walk include uphill route, but still consider easy to walk. Be aware of slippery path.
Love it. Fab for the kids with lots of different play areas and lovely woodland to roam. Gorgeous gardens for the grown ups. A fair bit of rubbish lying about. As some feckless visitors appear to be incapable of taking their rubbish home, some more bins would be a good idea. Cafe is mediocre but has a lovely outdoor seating area. Service could do with a smile, limited choice of food but it's ok and prices are reasonable. Good cup of tea. The 'sample' cakes on display need improving - the strawberry tart looks like a prosthetic bullet wound in a pastry case. Toilets a bit yucky. Great place though!
Very nice place! Beautiful gardens, gorgeous views, lovely cafe. Forest paths, please wear appropriate footware. Not for free, but definitely worth it!
Amazing place with a little bit of everything. Stunning gardens, forest trails, children's play areas, coffee and gift shop, incredible falconry, shop and facilities. Main garden area is buggy friendly. Trails are off-road and some quite steep. Take the family for a full fun filled day out.
Nice place, beautiful garden and great place for kids. The best time to visit the place is summer. Forest paths, please wear appropriate footware.
Lovely walks and area. The owls, eagles and people that look after them were a big hit. An active family will get a.nive few hours out of this. The menu choice in the cafe was a big let down. Bring a picnic.
Lovley country park for long walks, play parks for the kids also has a bird sanctuary with owls, egals ect, great day out for the family.
Good for day trip from Glasgow, it's around only 18mi from Glasgow. Away from traffic and very pleasant place
Been here a few times - but, for some reason, haven't really explored too much of it - until today. Discovered lovely walks around and beyond the pond area. Also found a very engaging family, who exhibited and gave some very interesting and passionate info on owls and birds of prey. Turns out that a goshawk I'd seen earlier was probably one that the owl man had lost to the wild on an earlier occasion. Tearoom is also nice.
Absolutely brilliant day. I have lived a 20 mins drive from this park for years and I didn't even know it was there. It was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint at all. So many different little areas for the kids to play. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Cafe open for take away. Toilets & Disabled and baby change open to use. We were there for hours and will definitely be back. Whilst we were there we saw a kids birthday party. The children were patting and feeding the animals. Very nice nature with the kids and lots of hand sanitising being done. If I could I would give 10 .
