Had a disappointing start, when our accommodation was changed. We had asked for a lodge that we had stayed in before, we knew it suited us well, as our son is disabled with limited walking. However it was not there fault the lodge had been sold. Had a lovely replacement, not quite as good but perfectly fine. Only problem our hot tub was not working. They tried everything possible but no joy. We got offered the only other pet friendly accommodation left on site, very busy as it is Christmas we had a look but it was no good for our son. So we stayed where we were. Very disappointing not to have a hot tub, was looking forward to using it especially on Christmas day, we had some money refunded and after my daughter told reception how disappointed we were, we had a complimentary spa experience gifted to us. Very nice and relaxing. Turned out to be the perfect Christmas after all. Will definitely be back again especially for Christmas. Well done to all the staff for your help, you couldn't of done anything more.
Love Finlake. Have been for lots of trips in the last few years. The pool facility is brilliant and clean and warm showers after. Great food in the restaurant and cafe. The lodge we stayed in was very well equipped and had a lovely spacious living space and hot tub. Bed was very comfy too. Can't wait to come back.
Went to the swimming pool, nice customer service, pool was very clean, but it's super cold, the air and water. We really struggled. You get hours' worth for your booking. Great little flumes and lovely little play area for the kids. It's nice that the pool starts off shallow and gets deeper, but as I mentioned, it's absolutely freezing.
Lovely place, Beautiful settings, great swimming pool with slides and good for little children too. No evening entertainment. Lodge floor was filthy, my baby daughters feet were black! There was also rubbish under one of the beds! housekeeping sorted this quite quickly the following day. Activities were good although a bit pricey.
We only went to the indoor pool as day visitors so can only comment on those facilities. I'm extremely pleased to report that from the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality, through the excellent and abundant changing rooms that include several sizes of rooms, family, baby changing and easy accessibility, free lockers, showers and even about 6 free hairdryers with huge mirrors front and behind, on to the best most child friendly indoor water park I personally have seen in this country. With safe shallow pool's featuring multiple small slides, sensory fountains and educational features as well as two excellent big slides for older kids and adults, the whole facility is well staffed. Myself, my partner and our 17 month old son will be going back every week! Cannot recommend it enough, fantastic!
Amazing place, loved it and booking again. The lodge we stayed in was lovely, clean and suitable for 2 couples with a hot tub. The spa was amazing, so nice and relaxing. The bar was nice and staff friendly, food and drink prices were good card only Can't wait to come back
The place was great, we went in the new year time which was rainy but we still enjoyed our time between the swimming pool and the fun activities they host within the area. 4 stars because the towels had bugs on them which doesn't give a good hygiene indicator, but it might be a one time thing so will give them the benefit of the doubt.
We are currently staying here in what they call a 'superior holiday home 4 with hot tub' which is described as being an up to date accommodation. It is outdated and worn. Taps and door handles are loose. The oven has lost its markings. It's difficult to book activities and the activities we have booked have been cancelled. The park is too far away from everything. Our accommodation gets no sun and is covered in leaves so we can't really sit outside comfortably. The flume was closed at the outside pool. Everything on site is card payment only. The hub is tiny. Food in the retreat is good but that's really the only positive thing I have to say about finlakes.
Really enjoyed our week here. Loved the swimming, slides, woodland walk, activities, food takeaway and restaurant and all the young team working there were friendly and helpful. Well done to them. Will definitely visit again. Would have given it 5 stars but the caravan was sadly dusty/dirty in lots of areas and the outside decking and hot tub were covered in cobwebs! A call to reception regarding the cobwebs was not acted upon but a call to housekeeping the following day requesting the cleaning team to sort the inside and the outside did produce a response but not able to clean until the next day. A nice guy swept outside and two lovely ladies got to work inside and spoke to their supervisor to agree with the problems I had highlighted and were shocked it hadn't been done. Once thoroughly cleansed there were no more problems but an acknowledgement and apology would have been nice. Apart from that we had a great week.
Lovely place. Beats any others we've been to hands down. Peaceful, great swimming pool for the kids and big kids Recommend to anyone. We'll definitely be going back
