Finchley Reform Synagogue is a vibrant and diverse Reform community based in North London. Its informal and inclusive approach, along with its innovative and dynamic methods, makes it a shining light in British Jewry.
FRS looks to the needs of its members at all stages of their lives: it becomes the ‘constant’ for them, celebrating with them and comforting them, teaching and learning with them, encouraging them to participate fully in the life of the community no matter what their heritage or level of Jewish understanding.
The community is lead by its Principal Rabbi Miriam Berger, an inspiring, supportive young rabbi who can connect to people of all generations, whether through a personal conversation or when leading services. She is always creating new ways of reaching out to members, helping them remain energised and motivated while on their Jewish journey.
Cantor Zöe Jacobs, the first Reform cantor in the UK, brings musical depth to community life, enabling participation from all and allowing harmonies to flow. Rabbi Howard Cooper, as Director of Spiritual Development, offers a range of paths of engaging in Judaism, giving space for members’ differing needs.
Members are encouraged to find their particular place in the life of FRS and together, with the professionals, they create a partnership with all that’s on offer – from innovative education programmes to actively supporting others both within and beyond our own community.
We’d love to welcome you to FRS – no matter what stage you are in your life, you can take your first steps of your new journey here.....
