Watergate bay hotel is special to us as I’m pretty sure as an extended blended family we’ve been staying there off and on since the 70’s. Room 10 was very nice, warm clean dog friendly. Lovely modern beach themed decor, we love the wood on the wall too, I’d like that at home! Lots of thoughtful touches. You can eat breakfast in the living space if you have a dog with you and the staff were very kind especially the older gentleman who was working in there on the morning of 14/9, it really was a good breakfast. There is a lovely relaxed vibe.I actually fell asleep again after breakfast and had to be woken to check out. The beach is stunning. Even at 4am our old dog needs regular toilet breaks- rather like his owner I was walking in the moonlight to the sound of the sea, magical really.
We visited for the Swim and Dine for our first wedding anniversary. We had an absolutely fantastic time - amazing views from the pool, very romantic! Was lovely to watch the sea from the sauna and have drinks brought to us while we relaxed. The manager was super friendly and helpful too. The real standout though was the dinner - one of the best meals I've had in a long, long time - we couldn't recommend highly enough! We were blown away by the quality and taste of the food. Shout out to the serving staff too, who were fab, particularly to Jack who was our waiter for the evening and a really lovely lad. All in all, a great way to spend an evening and very reasonably priced for what you get! The only niggle that stops this being a five star review is the cleanliness of the changing rooms. In all honesty they were grim, I would expect so much better from this calibre of hotel. I used two different rooms and both had thick mould growing up the walls in the shower area. One even had mouldy slime growing on the back of the wooden door! This is something that can easily be rectified so hopefully staff will take note. Overall would really recommend if you're looking for a romantic evening, or maybe a girly evening with friends.
Lovely four days away at The Watergate Hotel in September 2022. Food was delicious and the staff very attentive but friendly and relaxed. Three nights accommodation plus food will see off £1500 but it was worth it and we had as can be seen by me taking a quick snooze a fantastically relaxing time interspersed with decent walks on both the coastal paths and fabulous beach. Only negative was the very hot room which, on the first night made sleeping difficult. Highly recommended.
I recently spent 2 nights at the hotel and couldn’t fault the experience! The staff were friendly, helpful and informative. The food was out of this world, both living space and Zacrys, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I also received a massage during my stay - shout out to Megan. I’m now knot free and relaxed!! But if that wasn’t enough, being able to walk down onto the Bay itself, watching the tide and the surfers even in the cold wind was therapeutic and perfect for a little winter getaway! I will definitely be returning!
The service at this place is outstanding! The staff couldn’t do more for you. We went for a little get away with our little 6 month old and we were very impressed with the cleanliness, decor and the facilities at Watergate Bay. The food is also very impressive. The only thing I could pick at was the speed at which the courses came out at all three restaurants, didn’t leave much breathing room as they came virtually straight away. But again just picking. The Old Fashioned cocktail is a must try if you’re a whiskey drinker.
Huge beach, awesome waves, with lifeguards managing the safety. Its so big and wide, you never feel like it's crowded. The backdrop is beautiful and the water lovely and clear. Get there early to avoid trying to find a good parking spot, but it doesn't put a major negative on it, just be prepared for a steep walk down to the beach.
Just totally awesome! I asked my other half the very big question when staying here and coordinated bits with the team, led by Izzy. I can’t remember all the names but Hannah, Kayleigh, Sarah and more! They were the perfect team! They were also so pleasant and helpful the whole trip and made everything great. It didn’t stop there. The food, service, cleanliness, environment, views were so spot on. Just come see for yourself!!
Stunning location, fantastic facilities and wonderful staff. We’ve been staying here as a family since 1984 and have such fond memories of both the hotel and the surrounding area. If you are looking for a warm welcome, delightful staff, spectacular location and stunning hotel then you’ve just found it! Look forward to seeing you again soon.
A real treat to visit and very easy to relax and unwind. Certainly not a cheap option but you get what you pay for! We had a sea view room which was worth the extra cost and made the visit so much more worthwhile. Would certainly recommend and will visit againRooms: 5/5
Absolutely fantastic hotel and beach. Came just for a dog walk and a lunch at the Beach Hut, but the staff were all friendly and professional, the hotel itself was very luxury and comfortable. Would come back to stayService: 5/5
