Nice location but expensive if you buy food here. Plenty of space to bring a picnic which we will do next time. Lots of BBQ stations so bring your own charcoal and enjoy Bit of a sewer smell wafting around periodically which made it feel a bit dirty. Car park pay on exit works well and should be a similar system everywhere. Will probably return again next summer
Lovely, large country park. Well maintained, miles of walks and lots of things to do. Ideal for families with children of all ages. There are plenty of places to picnic, some with BBQ which you would need to bring charcoal for, and several cafe's offering a reasonable range of items. For those staying at the adjacent Caravan and Motorhome Club Site it's an added bonus. I'd highly ya visit.
Regularly go there for walks. There are Coffee shops and a farm shop. Plenty of seating if you need to stop on your walk around . An total blessing to have in our city. For children there are 3 separate play areas . Everything within the park us all in keeping with its surroundings. A total gem of a place
Beautiful place. Fun for all the family. The parks are well looked after as well as the area. We have visited many times doing a range of activities. The dog loves his walks there but I do wish they would have more enforcement with dogs on leads as our dog is very nervous when dogs comes up to him due to being attacked as a pup. The boats were very fun our kids loved them. The only thing I would say is things are a little pricey to buy such as food and drinks but that’s only because we have a big family it adds up but we always bring a picnic which is lovely to sit anywhere as there is plenty of benches around or even big open areas to take a blanket.
This is one of the most beautiful places to spend a day out in nature. There is a special area designed for barbecue, playground for kids with sand, water and green grass. There is also a little train that you can ride from one side to another of the park. Another good thing is that you can visit and stay with your own motor home- caravan or tent. I do recommend to hire one of the equipments like boat, swan or kaiac and saile around the lake. Kids were very happy all day!
A lovely country park with excellent parking available and accessible paths. Clean facilities are provided with information boards at regular intervals. We enjoyed a insightful cruise across the lake and down the river which provided us with an understanding of the local area and ecology. This was very reasonably priced and easy to book. Our top tip for future visits will be to make sure we take our own food and drinks. This was the one aspect of the visit that was very expensive on site.
Absolutely wonderful place - highly recommend! Stayed at the camping and motorhome club site next door. Walk out of gates into park. The wildlife is amazing, as are the facilities. A huge site, easy to find peace and quiet.
My wife and I made a visit to Ferry Meadows Country Park on Thursday 13th January 2022 to see if we could see the otters that were reported to be near Swallow Bridge off Gunwade lake. Much to our delight we saw 3 otters swimming under swallow bridge and catching fish. The time to șee them is between 12:30 to 2:30pm. What a fantastic opportunity to see such a elusive creature at such close range. PLEASE do not disturb these wonderful animals.
Love the breakfast at the café with the veggie sausages. You have to be early during the weekends to get them otherwise they may run out soon. Lots of spring activities are going on during the weekends there hence worth for family and kids engaging times.
Fantastic place to have a walk. Be warned it is quite big so will need your walking shoes on but it's a lovely place with a couple of cafes to sit and take in the views. As well as pedalos and boats on the lakes there's also a campsite before u enter the parking area. Theres a designated are for bbqs where able to cook and invite family and friends. You can walk around the lakes or have a wooded walk, can definitely spend a few hours here chilling and going for relaxing walks wether your on yoir own a couple or a family. Very open and dog friendly and your 4 legged friends would love this place. Also got a mini railway and play areas so would be a good place to take children. There's lots to do for all ages so if u haven't been then it's well worth a visit. Definitely recommend visiting here and will be going again.
