My mum was sent here in the dreaded year of COVID,2020,sadly she got stuck in the system being moved place to place,she did settle here more than other places,we couldn't see her only talking on phone.she was here around 9/10 weeks,I was told she eating well/ok...it wasn't till we got her moved into a nursing home and told she was dying that we got to see her,we was shocked,it was clearly evident that she had not been eating well or ok at all...we had evidently not had the truth told to us at the time and this still bothers me big time.
My mother spent nearly 4 weeks at the hospital and I can say that the staff who helped to look after her were outstanding. Their caring natures and professionalism were a credit to the NHS and I would like to thank them for everything that they did.
The team here are absolutely wonderful. They are friendly but professional. When we visit my mum they make us feel like part of their family. Nothing is too much trouble. We are now waiting for them to find her a care home, but she loves it so much she doesn't want to leave. It was her 93rd birthday recently and they let us use a room so she could have more visitors. They baked her a cake and sang happy birthday to her.nWe haven't come across one negative about this hospital. Mum enjoys the food, all cooked on the premises. In fact, we will be sad when mum has to leave.
