ABSOLUTELY SUPERB!!! From the moment we walked through the door we knew we were in the hands of professionals. The lady that greeted us as we entered was totally charming and treated us like regular customers even though this was our first visit. The customer service throughout the night continued in the same manner of friendly professionalism with the waiting staff showing an excellent knowledge of the menu. And the food, in a word WOW!!! There were so many amazing dishes to choose from, I decided on the special off beef wellington, a favourite of mine and was not disappointed, it was cooked to perfection. My wife Sam had the sea bass which again was cooked beautifully and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert was to die for. We have already booked to go back again with some friends after raving to them about it! Thank you everyone at The Fat Goose for a wonderful evening.
Popped into the Fat Goose a couple of Sundays ago but for some reason just fancied a really decent Seafood Platter, not on the menu unfortunately. However after a brief chat with staff and chef. Hey presto! What arrives one really lovely plate of seafood. Just perfect! Have to say top marks to chef and staff for improvisation at a very busy time of the day well done.
Have been here several times and the food has always been lovely. The staff are friendly and atmosphere comfortable. Only complaint I would make is the menu is heavy on the fish. I don't eat fish.
Asked for the blue cheese sauce to be substituted for medical reasons, it came with the blue cheese, we queried it, they rushed it out, washed the chicken and bought it back with no sauce, bland chicken, very bitter undressed salad, horrible meal, bad customer service, no offer of a reduction in price for what they admitted what a bad break down in communication, apologised briefly but not sincerely, then tried to blame us! a shambles.
Just had Christmas roast at the Fat Goose, it was absolutely brilliant. As usual the staff were helpful and friendly, we even met the chef!!! We recommend the Fat Goose 100%
Found this place by accident a couple of years ago when looking for somewhere to eat on the way to the ferry at Harwich. Have now been 3 times and the food is consistently excellent. We will be back!
Found pub on drive out yesterday. Staff friendly and efficient. Lovely food. Would recommend.
I will not be going back, had a christening the same time and were not bothered with any one else.
Very nice food, worth the trip!
