Came here on retreat with our Year 11s. Lovely place, lovely people, lovely grounds. And nice to wander around and find nooks and crannies that hide a Norman Chapel, beautiful plaster work, many many candles and really good food. And the daffodils are pretty good as well.
A free stop off the M3 to get a glimpse of an old castle relic. It’s been converted for weddings and events which is good to help preserve it, but I’m just reviewing the actual ruin. It is still in good tour-able shape but isn’t really very big. If you like history though it’s worth jumping off the interstate. Note that the facility closed to your guests at 4, different hours may show on google due to their other events.
The castle ruins are well worth the visit and the views are great on a clear day
A taste of history. Free parking and entrance. Well worth a day visit if you also visit Farnham museum 15min walk from castle car park. Also visit Waverley Abbey and a wooded treck too Crooksbury Hill. Lots of restaurants/supermarket and shops in the local village.
I have had the pleasure of filming weddings at Farnham Castle in Surrey three times now, and each time has been an absolute delight. The venue has such a unique character that sets it apart from other wedding venues, and I am always impressed by the attention to detail that the team puts into every event. From the stunning architecture to the beautiful grounds, Farnham Castle provides the perfect backdrop for a truly magical wedding. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional, and always go above and beyond to make sure that the couple and their guests have a wonderful experience. As a wedding filmmaker, I am always looking for venues that will help me create beautiful, cinematic footage, and Farnham Castle never disappoints. I cannot recommend this venue enough, and I cannot wait to have the opportunity to film another wedding there.
Great views from the top, once you get there. I walked through blind Bishop's steps. Worth a visit. It was during working day so it was pleasantly empty with no visitors around. I really enjoyed it. I had not seen a gift shop though. But onsite there are decent toilet facilities. Would definitely reccomend.
I love Farnham Castle! I visit from time to time to assist bridal parties get ready for wedding days. I recently visited again in December and was welcomed by lovely staff on a freezing day, they ensured everyone was warm inside and had tea/coffee, etc. The venue is stunning and the space for bridal parties to get ready in the morning is perfect! I'm looking forward to coming back during 2023 x
Incredible. Information center is interesting as well.
Although we didn't go far as we had our dog with us. The lady that spoke to us was absolutely outstanding. She made us feel very welcome, she was brilliant with the children, and made sure they had things to do
Fascinating old castle keep in ruins. Visited in the summer and it has spectacular views. Unfortunately closed from 24 Dec to 31 Jan so kids a bit disappointed
